I am using it with the F-16 grip + extra buttons. It's works good. I did have a hiccup where the analog axis didn't work, but I just had to recalibrate them with the WW base and then they were working again.

flying the f16 irl is done with a force sensing side stick that only moves like 5mm in X/Y axis, ww sells these & you don't use an extension with those, well not typically from what I know & def not in the f16 irl. Those WW f16 grips & Moveable Force Sensing Stick Base, MFSSB are perfect for emulating the f16 controls but the mffsb is probably not the best choice to get for an 'all round' base, though the Rhino is perfect for that job imo cause you can tweak it so much + do things like force trim in heli's etc.

If you fly warbirds or helicopters then imho the Rhino is awesome & so much fun, plus for more modern jets it's just as useful & fun due to the ability to make separate config files for each aircraft in the Rhino software. What do you typically fly?

as far as 'all round' grips go, this depends but honestly either the VKB MCGU or the Virpil version, or the WW F-16 grip, it has slightly more axis or buttons, but only with the adapter, also if you fly or are interested in the A-10 it's later model like the DCS full fidelity module also uses the same F-16 style grip, but center mounted & on a extension

the Rhino kinda has a built in extension cause how it's gimbal is, but still depending on your mounting etc. even a 100mm extension could be good

you may find when it's mounted & with the amount of throw it's axis have you may not need one, or just a smaller one, sorry I can't give a yes or no

I have the WW F-16 grip. I decided not to use the extension after a bit of testing. The Rhino plus the adapter plus grip is enough for my setup. The extension makes the throws very big.

Not the same grip but close, A10 is derived from it. F-16 grip has a pinky paddle and a 13deg termination at the base. Real Warthog grip has no pinky paddle and the bottom terminates flat. They also have different DMS castles.

F-16 being a sidestick and needs the forward tilt for ergonomy. A10 is a center stick and the grip can't smack the panel that needs to be in pilot reach. Pics directly from Essex.

I hope this helps you have an idea of the height with the winwing adaptor (when the Rhino is ready for shipping you can order the adaptor). The adaptor can be seen as these 2 "rotative clamps".
