SAs long as they improve on the new taurus, it'll be a day 1 buy for me, since I love the current one so much. I bought the taurus in early 2020 and to me it's honestly the best throttle on the market (or was in this case)
PYeah 100% I wouldn't go selling anything or planing sim pits around the fact that the new WW throttle will be FFB. I'm likely just projecting my own wishes onto it, but, why make those throttles move like that at the end? if it was only to show the new set "coming alive" it's a bit misleading, it could be to gauge interest from the sim community, also they are known for doing a lot of f18 gear & one of the f18's features is auto throttle. Let's hope it is ffb to some degree, hopefully they make it.

WI think it has to be FFB. Otherwise why would they have that whirring sound. It implies something electronic. I’ll eat my hat if it turns out to not be ffb 
PYeah I mean, why not? it'd be such an awesome feature & as they make a point of in the video, it was a very well loved unit so why not improve it & release a v2.0 & having the ATC feature work would be a really cool thing to add. On a half related note, I hope they release an A-10 throttle grip to go with the Orion 2 & the new throttle too, unless I'm mistaken the a-10 throttle grip is the same as the f15e too isn't it? I mean they really would be living up to their logo then, ultimate warthog killer then there's be no reason left to buy a TM warthog throttle anymore.

Aside from aforementioned things it should have support for multiple throttle grips. Imagine having the F-16 throttle grip + gate on it? Or a COLLECTIVE grip. This needs to be a thing. Give existing owners even more of a reason to upgrade.

JAlso if they do an F-15E/Warthog throttle grip, I hope they work on more panel stuff that isn't just F-18. F-16, F-15E, A-10 panel stuff would be amazing.

RBefore I board my plane what can I download to start looking at how to install the rhino and bind keys and adjust settings. I fly dcs helicopters and msfs helicopters only.
PHey m8, not too sure what you can do to 'get ready' for the Rhino. What you need is the VPforce Config software, also for DCS (soon msfs too) the Telemetry app will give you ffb effects for all the aircraft, you can tweak this further later, if I understand it right it only adds effects it won't overwrite any native ffb effects from the module. MSFS currently needs paid 3rd party software most ppl use XPForce though there are other options, the VPforce telem app is being worked on for msfs compatibility too, should be released soon. The VPforce Loopback app is also handy, if you have a grip that doesn't plug directly into the Rhino base i.e. VKB grip with passthrough adapter, or a custom grip that has it's own usb, you can use the Loopback app to make the sim see the grip & Rhino as one unit, can also use HID Hide too if you want to hide the grip from being seen by the game too.
Pthe DCS heli's force trim should 'just work' otb with the Rhino, just make sure in DCS settings you have the FFB enabled (obviously) but also special settings for each heli & make sure the force trim is set to default, not no spring & FFB, that should read 'no spring or FFB'. Trim in general should work too for warbirds etc. If you use a mod aircraft like the blackhawk you will need to add it to the Telem app config, but also in the VPforce config software you need to bind buttons for force trim in the 'Effects' tab

JThink im gonna have slipping issues running a 72 and 12 tooth pulley this close together? Im getting about 30% engagement on the 12 tooth. I could include some bearings as tensioners
LI found a bug, when you change the seat from pilot to gunner in Apache, the FFB will not work anymore, you've got no hardware trim.
Lanyone had the problem before?

JYou definitely do have an increased risk of shearing off the teeth with only 3.6 teeth in mesh. The number of teeth a belt needs in order to transfer the highest working force a belt should be used with to the pulley is about 6.
With some rough calculation your safety factor from shearing off the teeth, assuming you use a 9mm belt, is only 1.15.
I would certainly advise you to use an idler to increase the number of meshed teeth.

MHi @walmis - Looking for a quick release mount for the Rhino and wondered if the screw dimensions were the same as anything else? I ask because the monstertech plate you supplied was for something else right? Maybe a large Virpil base? Or is it unique and the monstertech is bespoke to the Rhino? Thanks!
WHi, the MT plate was custom designed for the Rhino.
Mah, good to know! I'll have to work something out then as it's all mounted to a 8040 alu frame on a yaw2 and need to keep weight down so want to swap out the rhino weight for a fanatec csl dd when driving. Been tricky to find a solution so far

MThanks. It could be either m8 or m6. For everything else I've used the quick releases from https://qr4rigs.com/ which have been great for swapping out pedals with rudders and the wheel and they do have some generic ones so I'm seeing what can be done there

Ji think the monstertech mounts use counter sink screws so more likely to be 16mm
MI'm currently mounting the rhino using the custom monstertech to a 4040 peice coming out from the long 8040 sides most rigs have as the foundation and that's working fine. Just wanted a faster way of removing it. I think Q4Rigs might have something, just need to dig down and be creative

RExcellent, just got home and unboxed. Will be a few days before I can install. My goal for now is getting the DCS helo's to work. I fly the 60 and huey mostly, but also give the 64 and mi8 some love.
IWill be pretty much good to go out the box with the basic software
