VKB BlackBox uses the same cable as printers do going to the PC. I think it's called USB-B. All the cables needed should come included in the VKB BB, as Jon stated above the VPforce VKB adapter comes with the cables to go to the BB, then the USB-B from BB to PC.
That's not correct. Phoenix Sparrow depress works. The depress missing is for SW station changing. It is kind of easy DIY fixable. Done it, but have yet to use it
It has become something of a holy grail for PC combat flight sim enthusiasts. An authentic and highly detailed recreation of the air battles fought in the Pacific during World War II. Not since Pac…
In the market for a better home cockpit setup myself and was wondering the same. A review I saw mentioned the center mount didn't go low enough to use an extension with their non-ffb stick.
As a predominantly offline/single player flight simmer so far, I'm really looking forward to it, especially if they can offer a dynamic campaign of some sort.
In regards to player bases, I think its up to existing games/communities to retain player count. If DCS WW2 for example wants to keep people interested, ED should finally release the tools necessary to do a better job of running servers.
Any new game will always have a lot of people at launch very interested in checking it out. It takes a long time to build up communities for retaining player count. DCS WW2/IL2 Great Battles MP communities weren't built overnight, and I doubt they'll disappear overnight either.
Really just depends on how good of a job the devs do with Combat Pilot and how multiplayer works. So far it sounds like they're definitely open to discussion with the community, so in a perfect world ideal scenario is community gets access to all tools they'd ever need to properly run servers.
another potential big factor, is groups that used to run servers in either game, and them potentially expressing interest in running servers in Combat Pilot.
So even without a 'loss' to existing communities or player bases, we could potentially see a solid community server established in Combat Pilot, if it gives players who are burned out on what is currently available something fresh and exciting to dip their toes into.
Regardless, they are absolutely spot on about the current state of flight sim, and the absence of PTO, and providing something else for players to enjoy is a very welcome notion.
I do think there is so much we as the flight sim community could do for the state of Combat Pilot now by providing suggestions and our opinions and what we actually want out of the game, particularly for multiplayer.
It sounds like it is such early days in development, that it is the PERFECT time to talk about what to add that would require a lot of stuff to put it into the game (as in, easier to just hard code into it now, vs try to do decades later like ED does with DCS)
Of course. It is ultimately their game and their vision. But if there are fundamental things from a technical aspect that would make maintaining a community much easier, definitely worth letting them know
Hello everyone! We are SPQR, and are hosting our new DCS server running the Engima's Cold War code but for modern jets and helicopters. We are moving out of our beta testing period and launching the production version of the mission tonight and we would like to welcome everyone to come fly and try out the server!
I can't speak for Winwing at all, but I can say the MCGU has been tried and tested and proven to be solid, as it has been around for some years now. Orion 2 came out fairly recently iirc.
I think technically the WW F-16EX has more HATs or button inputs if you have the extension pack thing on it, like Jon I don't own the WW I have the MCGU on a 200mm curved extension, tbh that's probably the heaviest I'd go with a 200mm extension on the Rhino as the weight of the mcgu does give a fair bit of leverage, I use the vkb Kg12v2 grip for warbirds & ga flying & it feels better for those, the mcgu I use for heli's & anything more modern than warbirds, don't get me wrong it feels awesome on the Rhino I usually only have the spring force low when flying modern aircraft & it's still enough, I just personally wouldn't want heavier than the mcgu.
That's great, you pretty much nailed the way I want to use . I'm also planning to use Rhino with a 200mm extension, I was inclined first to go for Virpil as I could later on 3d print some grips, such as the P-51 and KG12/13C, but personally I prefer a metal grip
