DLike raisin said its a very hard question to answer but i would start by thinking about what context you get dressed for the most. Are you mostly wearing casual wear? Probably better to prioritize things like jeans, fatigues, cargos, ect. Do you have a job that requires more formal attire? Maybe should prioritize things like dress pants, chinos, khakis.
DIf you you are building a wardrobe from scratch i would focus less on a number and more what do i need to accommodate how i would like to be dressed
N6 pants that arent jeans for me
Rcurrently have around 5 jeans, 5 chinos, and a pair of suit pants. Probably could shave that number down a bit if I really had to though
BIn my casual wardrobe I have 6 pairs. 1 pair of chinos (mustard), 2 pairs of linen pants (natural and black), 1 pair of wool trousers (gray), 1 pair of jeans (medium wash), and 1 pair of cords (brown)
