PI've been using kde. Are gnome extensions prone to breaking on gnome updates? I had one machine on gnome and I think it wasn't just an automatic thing for gnome extensions to update. And does dolphin work well in gnome?

PGnome looks prettier but I like dash to panel and max/min buttons. I think out of the box kde is closer to what I wanted

Fh9onestly, i used KDE for many months and GNOME's functionality exceeds KDE's by far (with extensions)
FAnd anything else, you can probably use the looking glass to figure out what it is and potentially change it using dconf
