I believe you can just remove your layers and update, but if you've got stuff backed up, reinstalling probably works. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion
@KyleGospo sorry for the stupid question but i want to help a friend of mine install bazzite on his ally since there's an image for it now, can i just tell him to download the 2.02 release from github and will it be included in that?
I can't remember if it was you who posted the image, but using rpm-ostree install adds layers(?) on the image. If you haven't done that, then I think it's irrelevant.
Bazzite installed lutris alongside Steam on first setup, but it in a flatpak. Do people recommend using it for epic games? I am wondering if my this set up would be made better by putting heroic launcher or another copy of Lutrus in the arch distrobox steam is in by default.
oh the arch distrobox container method is actually discontinued on bazzite. it's still maintained and intended for other setups outside of bazzite, like another linux distro, but yeah... Steam and Lutris are now layered onto the image as native RPM applications. Heroic works well as a Flatpak though
Oh, I didn’t realize! So, if I remove my whole Steam install, get rid of the distro box, and run the bazzite setup again, will I have it installed natively?
the native packages should already be there and you can safely remove the bazzite-arch container (assuming you have not installed anything yourself inside it)
