Got another issue which I've had on holo iso and chimera os and now here on boot the switch pro controller shows up in controllers twice causing double inputs, turning the controller off and on again fixes it. Any idea why it's showing 2 on boot and causing double inputs

Mmatt_schwartz does Bazzite have the steam_dev.cfg change too?

nope, just runs steam once and lets steam generate the ~/.steam folder
doesnt touch it past that from what i know

when it comes to the overlay stuff it shares the same codebase, think kyle suspected a something with either gamescope or mangohud causing it (like gamescope requesting mangohud to do something it doesnt support yet)
not sure what he found out though in the end

and amd cpus store the sensor/statistic values in the same location across ryzen processors from my knowledge so the fix should be universal

i dont have this, although i have a kingkong 2 pro and 8bitdo ultimate bt controller posing as a switch pro controller.
but they use the same driver

dont have a 1st party switch pro controller, never really liked nintendos pro controller hence why i never bought one

Thinking of getting the 2.4ghz 8bitdo controller do away with Bluetooth and hopefully stop the duplicate controller issue which must be a steamos issue not tested on my steam deck though

BT version has hal effect sensors if you care about that
also there is beta firmware for the dongle for the BT version to let you use xinput and switch input on the dongle too (on the bt model, which does come with dongle in the dock), bt mode will always be switch mode

All 3 holo iso, chimera os and bazzite have duplicate controller issue with switch pro controller, holo iso no cpu wattage and also other bugs, chimera cpu and gpu wattage all good but hate the desktop mode interface, bazzite has decent desktop similar to deck but wattage all wrong but devs seems active at least, holo iso seems dead.

Would love the duplicate controller issue to go away so didn't need to buy another controller.

fair, i never needed to look at my controller, what throws me more off is when games force (no option to override) nintendo glyphs because you use a switch pro controller

In bluetooth it correctly shows one on and one not connected so it's definitely not see 2 actual controllers

switch mode only, but you can put it in switch mode with the 2.4ghz dongle if you use a beta firmware that 8bitdo accidentally gave out and promptly removed because it had some issues they didnt like (like it turns off the controller when switching from xinput to switch input)
i emailed them and asked about the feature and they said they are still working on it and hoping to get it into a stable release at some point

Easiest solution I think would be to buy a 8bit and use via 2.4ghz but rather use controllers I have and hold put on buying a new one in hope valve make a new steam controller
