PIt doesn't cite sources, even if you ask. It gave me as good of any answer as any source I've found so far. I don't consider it some divine source of truth and I'm very open to counter-info. But I haven't found anything that contradicts it yet, even from a few people who only offered to tell me that AI sucks (very helpful).

O"general knowledge" without mentioning specific sources that corroborate what it has said tend to be things that it is predicting rather than things that have actual information out there.

SHi I'm new here! I am making a simpit for the Swedish jet plane JAS 39 C Gripen. My flight stick, which will be both force fedbak moving and static, connected to an arduino pro micro for the buttons and N measurement using 2 strain gauge sensors, 2 HX711 and 2 potentiometers or 2 hall sensors to get the angle of the stick, can you get values in and out with the USB FFB controller board

My goal is to simulate a real flight stick from the JAS 39 C Gripen with these values:
The roll force increases 0.5Nm/° up to 7.8° left and right.
The pitch force increase 0.52Nm/° up to positive 11° and negative-7°.
Soft stop in pitch 11° and to hard stop increasing 0.8Nm/° to 15°.

JYou will enjoy a damper kit for both fixed wing and rotary flying. It adds more precision even with the springs attached.
PIs there any current optimism about a workable ffb solution in the nearish future (or future in general)? My understanding is that the DCS telemetry is underwhelming for supporting it, but if it did work it would allow us to dynamically switch between rotary and fixed like we do with the Rhino

I don't have the DIY skills to pull of his (awesome looking) mod. Also, it looks like the control box sits pretty low on the unit, but my Virpil ACE has its legs removed and is mounted directly to my DOFR H3 so it would need to be a bit different for my config.
I'll probably just buy the Virpil dampener for now and hold out hope for the possibly far future combo of ED improving their ffb pedal support, Number working his magic and cracking the challenge of AP trim support, and Walmis making a prefab unit for purchase.

POne mod I've been thinking would be cool would be a collective brake attachment for the Virpil collective. I currently use the press-down of the Shkval zoom button to serve that function. Would be cool to have the more authentic style/function/feel.
POf course it is always a balance between "would be cool" and "what problems would I be introducing into my life by adding it into my currently working setup?" 
JThis may be a dumb question but I can't find the answer after searching a bit: Is the Rhino intended to be kept plugged in to AC power all the time, even when not in use? Is it "always on" when plugged into AC power and connected to the computer? And if so, how much power does it draw while at rest?
FIf it's not in use you can unplug it if you want

TWhen does the suspended state happen? I suppose it is after how many minutes of no data sent to it?
WAfter PC suspend/shutdown couple of minutes motors go into low power mode

JThanks. I keep a dust cover over it when I'm not flying, so I was concerned about heat buildup over the course of a day working at my computer (i.e., the stick would not be in low power mode because the PC would be running). Probably a non-issue with no load on the motors, but it's easy enough for me to put a remote-controlled switch between the plug and the outlet.

SI just got a call that my Rhino is waiting at home for me to get back from a work trip. Any advice for desk mounting? I currently have this cheap desk mount from Hikig but I believe it is too small for the rhino and wont come low enough, also need some advice regarding an extension as my seat has no cutout etc. really hoping to get to use the Rhino before I build my rig!

HBetween the torque and weight, you're going to have a tough time with those mounts. I side-mounted. Much easier.
JI personally bought the MT chair mount. Love it.
SFuck yeah, finally got my monstertech mount in. It was missing some bolts, but that was nothing that scavenging from my old virpil setup couldn't fix.

Ssince the rhino is using motors i would assume it does do it but for planes that move the stick for trimming instead of trimming the control surfaces is that possible with the rhino?
AYes, the stick will move with the trim for those planes which support it
AAdded advantage of a chair mount is that force feedback vibrations make the entire chair shake
