Aso I finally got around to trying bazzite testing on the Legion Go, and did a fresh install. It's mostly running great, and having hhd ootb is pretty awesome.
However, Desktop mode still has the issue where it starts upside down. There's a known fix (see link below), but is there a way to apply this to the LGO out of the box?

Aok, so the screen was still upside down after disabling wayland, but modifying the screen rotation setting worked, and preserved the orientation even across reboots.
the problem before with wayland was that it would always change the desktop mode orientation to be upside down, I just tested and can confirm that this buggy behavior is still present with wayland.

KSweet, we'll figure out what's up with Wayland but for the meantime I'll give that X11 switch another pass

ASo I suspect this might be related to steam. On NobaraOS Deck Edition, I've run into a somewhat similar bug where the desktop mode scaling would be forced to 200%, and it would always change right around when steam was loading
AAnd similarly on the LGO with Bazzite, on Wayland desktop mode starts off with the right orientation, but changes a few moments later
AUsually right around when steam is loading

Kimage builds are down so I'm not testing this yet
CAlso talk about Bazzite! It is a distribution with the same purpose, but it is built on Universal Blue, so it is immutable, and the developer community is very active, there are patches for different handhelds that are not found in other distros or that were first in Bazzite, I just helped in the translation of ReadMe.
