ASo I suspect this might be related to steam. On NobaraOS Deck Edition, I've run into a somewhat similar bug where the desktop mode scaling would be forced to 200%, and it would always change right around when steam was loading
AAnd similarly on the LGO with Bazzite, on Wayland desktop mode starts off with the right orientation, but changes a few moments later
AUsually right around when steam is loading

Kimage builds are down so I'm not testing this yet
CAlso talk about Bazzite! It is a distribution with the same purpose, but it is built on Universal Blue, so it is immutable, and the developer community is very active, there are patches for different handhelds that are not found in other distros or that were first in Bazzite, I just helped in the translation of ReadMe.

CYesterday I posted the first Intel Meteor Lake Linux benchmarks that were focused on the CPU capabilities with the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H on Ubuntu Linux compared to the existing AMD Ryzen 7 7840U.
CEither similar or better performance using less energy, go go competition!
RThey seem to have a decent GPU at least.
RProblem is that 99% of issues with Intel graphics is with their drivers, not the hardware in itself.
R(And CPU was underwhelming, from what I read. I'm not surprised by that)
RGood luck selling the MSI thing with Intel Windows drivers on top :P

RI think it was mentioned already some time ago, but to be sure - rebasing from bazzite-deck to bazzite-deck-gnome will introduce instabilities to the system and is not recommended? (In other words, if I want to check GNOME deck version as a long time KDE user, I have to do full reinstall?)
RFor the GNOME desktop among the technologies that will hopefully mature into good shape this year are high dynamic range (HDR) display support as well as variable refresh rate (VRR)
RAlso FYI wrt earlier talk about VRR support in Gnome
