Anyone have insight into this one? Could it be that I am using X11 rather than Wayland? Something to do with theming, or flatseal permissions?

If you go in Steam Settings -> Controller, does it register in there, and just not in game, or in neither?

If it shows up in settings but doesn't work in game, you might need to right click the game, goto properties, go to controller, and enable steam input. I have to do it for some games, it seems kind of random.

It registers and connection I see Xbox 360 Controllers (4 of them) when I forget and try to bind they connect properly, but keys on them just don't work

Huh weird. I know there used to be that ujust command to switch the gamepad driver (I had to do it myself) but as you said it seems to be missing now,

Hey, I'm having frequent difficulty with this lately, has anyone got any advice? It's making it very hard to configure dolphin or do anything else while dolphin emulator is open.
Edit: Okay it's definitely not bazzite specific and there was a recent commit to fix it in dolphin.

kyle removed it because driver has been replaced which should according to him avoid having to do the either/or driver solution that we did have

I would also defer to Lutris for this for now. Heroic is best for the stores that it supports directly: EGS, GOG and Amazon
