Inadvertently a problem could be introduced by using pre infected code without intent. @TorTorden I can guarantee I never used it because I needed to download it to start using Telem. I can absolutely see how those big warnings from the os are scary, they are designed to be.
But mostly they just trip cause someone hasn't paid them the licensing fee.

You don't need 'python' to run Telemffb, you download the exe and run it like any other program

Python is a widely used programming language that can use packets of other's code very easy, which is why most use it as they don't have to write that stuff themselves. I can guarantee some program you once used was made using python, you just never saw that.

There are other "code freezing" utilities that can generate an exe similar to pyinstaller.. but afaik, they all have the same issue to one degree or another and I dont think any others are as flexible as pyinstaller is.

While a signed cert would remove the need for people to add an exception to their AV, it really amounts to the same thing. Just because a program is signed, doesn't mean its safe. It just means the author says its safe. Adding an exception to the install folder will cause the AV to ignore the folder.. i guess similar to how it would if it was signed. But then I am not a real application developer, so that could be partially or completely inaccurate.
