J@walmis VP is my first ever use of Python on my PCs and within my network. This article suggests Python can be used against us. How are we protected and how can we protect from the issues in this article? Nthis article is moslty clickbait. Do you actually have the python interpreter installed on your machine? Are you downloading random obscure python libraries from pypi? If not.. nothing to worry about.
BI can pretty much guarantee this is not the first time you use python application. It's a very common programming language.

J@Number481 You are taking the question as an accusation. Please don't. I don't understand how Python works completely, but do understand rather high level access is granted to the applications. Inadvertently a problem could be introduced by using pre infected code without intent. @TorTorden I can guarantee I never used it because I needed to download it to start using Telem. Again there are no accusations being made at anyone and I fully appreciate the efforts of @Number481 and all other contributors.
Syou can download the exe of TelemFFB so you dont need Python on your pc.
BI can absolutely see how those big warnings from the os are scary, they are designed to be.
But mostly they just trip cause someone hasn't paid them the licensing fee.

NIf you are truly concerned about the TelemFFB executable in general, you can research the libraries which are used that actually come from pypi.. they are all listed in the requirements.txt file in the repository.
pyqt5- Used for the GUI interface
configobj- Used for managing configuration files in a structured way

traceback_with_variables- Used for printing useful information when errors occur

Apython is one of if not the most popular programming language today
FPython is a widely used programming language that can use packets of other's code very easy, which is why most use it as they don't have to write that stuff themselves. I can guarantee some program you once used was made using python, you just never saw that.
DAh thanks, are there any other converters that could work? Signed cert is ideal, but this is open source after all
NThere are other "code freezing" utilities that can generate an exe similar to pyinstaller.. but afaik, they all have the same issue to one degree or another and I dont think any others are as flexible as pyinstaller is.
While a signed cert would remove the need for people to add an exception to their AV, it really amounts to the same thing. Just because a program is signed, doesn't mean its safe. It just means the author says its safe. Adding an exception to the install folder will cause the AV to ignore the folder.. i guess similar to how it would if it was signed. But then I am not a real application developer, so that could be partially or completely inaccurate.

NThere should be a new version of TelemFFB soon that hopefully will generate an exe that doesn't get flagged.. and then we can wait until the next time it happens to have all these conversations again 
DIs the code verified by other members before it is published? Just wondering if an extra pair of eyes could glance the code to ensure there is nothing suspicious? I am not a coder either, and am cautious about running an executable that isnt properly verified

MI hope one day the software, or DCS is able to actually replicate this. Seeing the stick move when your (co)pilot moves it would be sick
SSamme issue as this person, my VKB adapter did not fit my VKB grips. I fixed it by taking out the screw, using a couple of nuts to hold it in the chuck of a drill, and then a file to grind off the bottom 3.7 mm of the thread. Now I only need to fabricate a mount for the Rhino..

MWinwing grips require an adapter to both reverse the threading and change from 5 pin to 6 pin. WW is not out of the box compatible with the TM system that Rhino is based on

LThanks. I somehow remember when i pre-ordered it there was an option to select which grip i would use and it had Winwing as an option. Did not look very closely with the actual order form though… too excited that it was my turn….
LI think this maybe a bit confusing in the preorder form which led me to expect the adapter would come with the base if I selected this option

Ris there any way to but a stop on the base to not allow it to go in farther forward. Just got the MIP from WinWing and the stick gose so far forward that I hit the MIP
Clol if I was him I’d get or split together an adapter cable and duct tape that sucker on somehow with a piece of PVC or something in the meantime lmao

PFinally rejigged the 'pit and rotated the rhino with the cut off switch way from me ( rather than tucked under the seat!) but with the extension I have it is obviously reversed. so... I thought, lets rotate the Rhino ' thrustmaster' connector round by 180... I'm a bit wary as there did not appear to be much slack in the cabling - so put it back together and asking here.
PTLDR- can I swap the rhino joysitck connecter 180 and is there enough cable to pull it out to do so ?

POut of the tube do you mean ? As in OUT of the base of the rhino screw base.. undo the 2 silver screws holding the 'PS2 ' connector and pull ...and there should be enough cable in there to rotate.
WOne caveat is that you might need to lift the leather cover and feed in some cable to the tube.
