KTry using the Fedora Atomic installer, if it works you can rebase, and if it doesn't I suspect it will fail the same way and we've ruled out it being our issue and can help you debug further

NI've seen this happen when testing using VMs only a couple times and it was when my disk was really busy. I'm wondering if something is going goofy on occasion depending on the hardware being installed to or the USB disk doing the actual install. I haven't been able to figure out exactly where that problem is.

Ntrue. Wiping your drive is definitely recommended.

NRight, audio is ever a challenge in the Linux space. My suggestion is looking for a USB headset and microphone or a good sound interface that is compatible with Linux.

NYeah, Bazzite isn't any different at it's core than improvements upon Fedora Atomic. Recommendations for sound hardware are going to be the same for fedora as it is for Bazzite.
