the reason I bring the lenovo/fedora thing up is they've been working together for a while, and if it's like "hey there's friction here with us trying to do foo, bar, and baz; what's the trick" then we can all figure out how fedora and lenovo have been working together already and then just copy that
like, if they end up in a spot where it's "we don't officially support linux but if we do these handful of things and then a ton of enthusiasts love our gear" then that puts them in the better spot. Then the existing lenovo linux people can be like "hey so after you get a good relationship going here's how you put the bios on LVFS" and so on.
or ideally internally they're like "hey so a bunch of nerds are putting linux on the Go and we're lost, how do I do the least amount of work and get them to not hate us"
