H24GB + 12GB zram is still 24GB ram its just that 12GB of it will be compressed

Hzram does not work the same way as normal swap/pagefiles
Hswap/pagefile places unused ram that is still occassionally needed onto your disk (so it becomes slower to access if you need that ram)
some ancient methods to check how much ram you have will report total ram as ram+swap

Hzram will compress the the unneeded ram in memory, effectively letting you squeeze out some more memory but thats it

Zmaybe one is running as root and the other as normal user? I heard there is a lot of issues like that if you created a root account at installation
