I've done this and worked for 4k HDR 120hz in Debian (well hdr sort of worked in kodi). HDMI cec even worked over display port

@MeatSafeMurderer yeah I think Valve is all in on the SteamOS strategy and they think they can differentiate themselves from Windows and consoles with a superior user experience, as they did with Steam originally.

The volume part just works better than mapping a local folder as a folder in the container. Podman manages the permissions so you don't get weird errors. the volume data is stored here /var/home/your-user-name/.local/share/containers/storage/volumes//var/home/your-user-name/.local/share/containers/storage/volumes/
