PHello, I'm trying to get Stable Diffusion running on Bazzite, however it apparently requires an old version of Python (3.10), and Bazzite comes with 3.12. I've tried all kinds of methods to get around this - creating a distrobox of ubuntu and trying pip, pipx, apt remove, apt install etc. Also tried removing Python from Bazzite so I could install the old one, but it refuses to remove saying the system is an image (rpm-ostree) based. Can anyone help me get an older version of Python on the system somewhere so I can run Stable Diffusion?

Pit just refuses to run in the ubuntubox, saying it can't find the proper version of torch. I googled that message and it is apparently because python is too new
Phow do i downgrade python inside the ubuntubox?
Kmaybe try a debian box?

Pdo you know how I could downgrade python inside the ubuntubox distrobox? it seems to pull python from the bazzite host somehow?
Por maybe it just got the new python because i did ubuntu:latest

Cjust apt remove and apt install the version you want
Kit can't, distrobox has it's own /usr folder
Kyou can downgrade it same as you would in a normal ubuntu install

Pwhat are these files that collect inside of .local/bin after using distrobox?
NDistrobox mounts your home directory, so it’s going to place files there like it would if you were using python on the host.
Pand if i want to wipe this ubuntubox and create a fresh one
Phow would i know which of those files in my bazzite home directory to delete

Nwe should actually collaborate and see if we can get Stable Diffusion running in a distrobox. We already have configurations for doing ollama, it would be cool to add stable diffusion to our set of ujust commands.
Pi wonder if automatic1111 would have worked if i had specified ubuntu:22.04

EI've seen people rage at comfyui because it's always running the latest pytorch. Very updated. :Hellmo:
