Oi think you have to change it in the properties for the game on steam? i don't remember it being game-based
AWindows 7 got directx 12 support and 8.1 did not...

Aonce you have GE, you should be able to just set in steam settings for all games to use it.
Dmeant to say rpm-ostree, what bazzite uses to version images, there's an ongoing investigation right now in upstream for uki support (unified kernel image), basically efi boot loader that is like a blob with all the files it needs for the OS to boot up, at the moment all the files are loose in the file system. My current gripe is not being able to do proper tpm2 decryption like windows does because of the way rpm-ostree works and its reliance on modifying kernel commandline parameters on every update. UKI should solve this, but according to github it looks like dev focus is all on bootc and dnf for image-based distros. So may be a while before this is fully functional.

OJust about went mad trying to shrink my Windows partition the "proper" way with disk management and everything, following guides online for what to disable beforehand and stuff. Every time, it would hit an "unmovable file" and not let me shrink more than ~900gb (had like 1.6tb of free space). I'd look in the event manager as directed and it would be some linux-formatted file name that wouldn't be visible from Windows or Bazzite no matter what tool I used to look for it. In the course of looking for it and deleting a couple of folder structures in hopes of getting rid of the unmovable file, the shrinkable space inexplicably shrank to ~700gb
OI finally caved and shrank it with KDE partition manager from Bazzite
Oif it broke Windows I'll reinstall it, I'm just done putting up with it if I don't have to lol
Obeware of reinstalling windows it likes eating efi partitions
Ayou cant bundle the kernel command line in UKI for bazzite's needs
Oit will see your grub and go yum yum
Aor any distro that hopes to have good hardware support

Ooh I know, that's why I put Bazzite on a different physical drive so I can just remove it while installing Windows if I need to

Din general though, a uki bundles in the cmdline, it would require a fundamental change to how things currently work in bazzite, we wouldn't need grub anymore since efibootmgr would be in charge of registering ukis with efi boot entries
Dso on update, when everything is generated, the uki blob gets created, and then registered with efi, but again, would require a substantial and fundamental change, nothing at all with how bazzite updates work atm
