(Definitely cheaper if you print yourself and if you have a half decent printer there are no complicated parts i was just too impatient to have to wait for me to get the time to print as some of the parts were 14-20 hour prints
BI have no idea what printer the guy I know has but it should be fine
(Start sourcing the bearings and screws etc so you are good to go once the prints are done and order the motors

Nit just depends how much you want to put into the materials
Nyou can really save a lot of money if you go for the bare minimum on prints, not so much on bearings/fasteners that are pretty much going to be a constant price
NDavid's kit has the advantage of a much more similar upper gimbal to actual vpforce, so based around an extrusion + compatible with vpforce metal grip connector upgrade
NI think he also uses pa12 for the grip connector itself, and completely solid prints for the gimbal parts

TBetween 5 and 10hours is a great estimate on the amount of work.
Depends on how confident you are with medium scale projects and/or the quality of prints also makes a slightly difference.
If you’re comfortable with a soldering station and have that preset up and you’ve got some random bits of wire or heat shrink you’ll be just fine.

PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO PART ORIENTATION.
As example the main stick mount has a slot for the wires. Pay attention to “where it’s at” and “how it’s facing” in the pics and as you move along keep it as a reference point.
If you have ANY issue… back up and start again. Some parts can go on both ways but the screws only fit, or are only recessed, one way.
Remember wire length matters! Short and sweet plus a little slack..
When connecting the motors pay attention to the Labels. They should be facing UP!
I have a pic I share that shows the inside wiring of a Rhino start switch (zoom in!)
The Power (+) comes from the plug to the C side of the Emergency cut off switch.
Power (+) goes from the NC side of the Emergency cut off switch to the Main board.
Negative (-) goes from the Plug to the Main board.
Outside that make sure to use lots of pics from the DIY section as alternate angles and I already know… You got this!

TWhile I’ve never built this kit.
New users should know there’s a few happy Rhino’s flying from this guys kits.
I have no idea on price or whatever but I know it’s legit.
Search for some reviews of the builds and it gets my stamp of approval for sure.

TYou know I’m not sure the logistics but maybe we could ask for a “For $ale” section where folks could pass on stuff they don’t need (like extra shift registers or plugs), or crafty folks could offer some smaller print services for “extensions” and you, and others, could offer kits.
I mean it’s legit so that shows potential users who is offering services and keeps a record or past contacts AND keeps new folks from being scammed by someone who’s name is really close… take the money and close out the discord before we can catch them (using a fake name similar to one of the sellers).
So yeah… I think IF we allow it? We should maybe look into a soft space to allow it to self regulate itself (and keep its own records).

TGm, all! I'm new to the FF market and was looking at the Rhino. I read there is a rather extensive waiting list, is that correct?
SYeah, it should be about 6 months or so when I get mine, and it's already longer. If you have some DIY inclinations, you can get a kit and put it together yourself in a much shorter time. VPForce sells the motors and controllers. You can either 3D print the rest yourself, or there's some folks that sell this parts.
DSome people here say its around 6-9 months which is fine
TAh that's not too bad. I think I think I waited a year or so for my MTS pit. Lol
TOr maybe it was 9 months for the pit and 6 months for the seat. It was a while...
TMaybe I'll wait a month for my work stipend to kick in and put an order in.
PWhatever the wait time is for the Rhino it's worth it. The FFB "effects" are really cool & can help not just with immersion but also 'feeling' the aircraft better etc. which can lead to better flying. But for me the biggest thing about the Rhino & FFB is the ability to customize the feel of the stick & be able to change this with different profiles. No going in & swapping out springs & tweaking dampners etc. With vpforce config you can make you stick feel right for a modern 4th gen fbw jet & then with the change of profile you can make it feel like a heavy warbird. Also when it comes to flying helicopters in sim the Rhino is just the best thing you could get, propper force trim is the best! I really love my Rhino it has added so much to my flight simming experience. Also Walmis & the rest of the discord are so helpful when it comes to any questions or help you need, I have seen Walmis put out an update for a single person's needs & it was done in a single day, in fact a matter of hours. Walmis has done a great job with this community & his customer service.

(Or as mentioned earlier if you have some diy skills a diy build can be done in as little as a day

Dfinally got my rhino base. 7 months. Anyone use a winwing f16 stick with the adaptor. Is anyone getting more than 32 buttons registering? some of the hats including the trim pov hat are not registering, basically anything past 32 buttons nor the axis based controls like the analog hat (part of the addon on the left) and the trigger pull axis on the bottom (buttons work on it)
WDid you enable the winwing profile?
