No major performance/functionality differences. Some I would call medium, but they somewhat leapfrog between major updates to each

There's functionality differences but it really depends on your use case, we customize gnome a bit as well so you're not getting the default experience.

Only thing really of note is that as of today only KDE has HDR support on the desktop. Others will catch up eventually

This was my KDE Plasma on openSUSE Tumbleweed.
You can do sooo many crazy things with it. It can even be overwhelming at first.

when I was new to linux... I learned all the KDE Plasma settings and thought: "this is linux" but I only learned aobut the desktop... not linux
