I have some issues:
(1) the stick vibrates when neither the Config or TelemFFB apps are running
(2) the gain pot on the base isn't working
(3) the force is odd and not responding to adjustments in the config app.
I've restarted Windows, checked for firmware updates, I'm applying the changes. It's my first day with the Rhino, so I may be doing something wrong, but it all looks strange. Any ideas?

1.) Vibrating? Or oscillating? If its oscillating, thats likely caused by too high gain on friction/damper or having the spring mapping pulled in too tight. If its actually vibrating (like an engine rumble), it could be a stuck effect. Look in the debug tab of the configurator software to see what effects are active ("Loaded Effects" pane on the right side of the page). Square/Sine/Triangle/Sawtooth are periodic (vibration) type effects.
2.) How is the pot configured in the configurator software? You can connect the pot to any of the sliders, but its probably set to "none" by default
3.) not sure I understand. Can you elaborate?

Recently i'm noticing my X-Axis being offset a few percent, using Protomakers DIY base, Virpil 20cm extension + Constellation Alpha grip. I guess it's caused by the rather long extension + heavy grip? Whatever i set in the balance spring, i can't get it to properly center without using adaptive recentering.
Even if i rotate the grip bringing the brake handle over to the right side, it still feels like there is a bias pulling the stick to the left, away from center. Any idea whats wrong?

I mean, as far as IL2 is concerned, its just an axis. The fact that it is FFB capable is irrelevant here. You should look at the real-time axis graph and the X/Y data in the Configurator app. I suspect that you will find your axes are not going to +/-4096 with full deflection and you probably need to recalibrate.

Thanks. I found out it was the friction setting causing the vibration. It sounds odd to me, but I guess I need to learn how the thing works. The pot had also been reset to nothing, after I reset the whole setup. I assumed it defaulted to master gain.

if you import the rhino defaults from the configs folder in the configurator director (which I recommend just to base-line the 'expert settings'), I believe it resets to spring gain. If you did a "reset config" that wipes out everything to firmware defaults as if you were starting from scratch configuring the expert settings on a DIY type device.

This can also happen if spring forces are turned up higher, but this applies to all games tho, not IL2 specific. There’s force compensation or calibrating with some extra buffer on each end of the axis

this is the thread. 🧰supportTelemFFB issue No cause was identified. You installed the dev version somewhere other than the regular version and it worked.

Go through that thread and check the same things you checked before. Do the logs look the same? Is it the same error?

Did you unzip the new version over-top of the dev version? Or did you do the in-place update of the older non-working version? If the later, and the log errors are the same, I suspect something on your system to be interfering with the proper operation (AV, for example). Try unzipping a fresh copy of the new version over top of the dev version you were using and see how that goes.

The e-stop and WW are unrelated. Firstly the E-stop doesn't cut power to the logic board. It's powered by USB and so is the grip (and the adapter).
The E-stop only cuts power to the motors.
Does the grip debug show any data or all FFs?

sry I should of been clearer there. When using the estop tonight while trying to swap over to my WW grip, which I was having trouble with, my estop stopped working. I'll turn things back on soon & try it

Hi, I finally figured out what was causing this weird behaviour... It was a problem with vjoy...

Even though vjoy was configured as a non ffb device, it was still listed in DCS.log as ffb device. And somehow this caused DCS to stop sending ffb commands to more than one VPforce device. Surely some users are using vjoy without problems, but in my case disabling vjoy made my stick/pedals/collective setup work perfectly every time. Could be it was just a screwed up vjoy install, but it annoyed me for sure...

Maybe something to keep in the back of your mind in case others have a similar problem. Cheers, Nobiwan

It's M36x2, the tolerances need to be pretty tight or the nut should be slightly enlarged, since most plastics shrink a bit after printing.

Ok looking at trying to make this virpil cable fit better to the ww adapter & I've taken the adapter apart & found that the pcb is bent twisted, I take it this happened when twisting the adapter tight? it still works atm. I'll look at gluing it in place maybe, or it might be better now that it can move a bit not & won't have forces on it when twisting the adapter threads tight
