RWell.... Mission accomplished. I can now kick back on my bed, run Bazzite, play SAO Hollow Realization (or any other game) and listen to Spotify. I'm keeping Bazzite on my rig.

Swhat situation do you need multiple DEs? a work/home thingy? that's the only thing I can think of that would warrant something like that, and at that point just dual boot or something

Han old issue back when i started using linux if you had used kde and gnome (but this is ages ago back when kde4 existed)
skype and all QT or KDE apps would get 2 px font on 1 DE but not the other even though your settings said 8px or idk 22px, this would persist even if you completely removed the other DE, some gnome apps would just not work properly or be slow.
otherwise issues that can still happen:
settings for KDE or GNOME will not always match what settings actually say they should be in some cases.
and if you removed your previous DE sometimes the system would still try open files in the uninstalled applications because they were set as default (luckily this is an easy fix but a new user wont necessarily understand that) and not updated.
essentially if you rebase between DEs you can end up with issues that would require manual fixing and we are not interested in supporting that.

KAh yeah you needed the gsettings not the graphical settings
SNow your making me feel old... I remember that issue. Also seem to remember it appearing towards the end of KDE3 when they did a QT upgrade I think it was (may have been 4 beta though, I'm old lol)
Hshows you how long i used linux, since i used kde3 on backtrack (predecessor to kali linux) because the weird ass wifi card i had would work ootb there.

there's a thing I haven't heard in years... and yes I think MADWIFI was well named it infuriated the hell out of me and most of my colleagues/friends at the timeHyeah so i just used backtrack because cool wallpaper and holy crap my wifi works!
