AWould it just work on the rhino if plugged in? Or would it require a firmware update?
WIt would probably 99% work if the hardware button/hat layout is somewhat consistent with their other grips
RHaving resin RealSimulator F-16 and F-18 grips, I never want a "metal" grip. I guess it's preferable to cheap plastic

Pyeah a light weight high quality plastic or resin is way better with the Rhino imho. A really nice light weight metal would be good too, the WW F-18 grip isn't too heavy, then compare to the VKB mcgu which feels like a club on the end of an extension. I blame TM for the "metal grips are superior quality" idea 
Rexcept Thrustmaster wasn't. That painted cheap cast alloy is terrible. They were maybe superior to the cheap joystick plastic shells of the 2000s
BThe buttons where heavier, and it helps when your only competition has design flaws in everything causing them to fail after a few months.
I found it interesting how my warthog throttle and virpil throttle weighed exactly the same, people still seem to think, "It's heavy, it must be quality."
The warthog had double steel bottom plates with half a dozen lead weights attached, the rest apart from the stamped sheets on top of the grip is plastic and glue.
I've gotten less flex out things I've 3d printed than those throttle levers.

Poh yeah I agree TM metal was/is crap, but their marketing was good to get ppl to believe that metal must mean better.
DTM Warthog is like 100 years old now, when you compare it to the plastic grips of the time it came out, the metal TM really wasnt that bad. Now though its just outdated by a mile
AF-16EX and MCGU weigh about the same, the latter is more top heavy, though

I just like crapping on TM they had the high end hotas market to themself & did no innovation etc. it took them 15yrs to change the tdc on the throttle. They have finally bought out a cam/spring base & the other companies are starting to move to ffb I wonder how long it'll take them to release one? 15yrs again.

Severybody who is still recommending TM is just coping because they paid so much and ive paid less for a superior product from another company
DMy first hotas was Warthog. The niple tdc is horrible and you must swap it out, buttons are heavy thats for sure and the thing is all in all reliable and feels solid. Throttle levers are ass, the base is ok but it definitely feels outdated and in dire need of an update
Datm thers absolutely no need to buy TM, way better options for same or less around
Soh god i just looked up TM website...hornet stick with base for .......600$....for that price you can get a Winwing hornet stick+base WITH a hornet throttle+base

Swhat i forgot to mention: with the WW offering you still have money left over .... well the only thing you DONT get with the WW offering would be a stick twist axis which would costs 80$ making it more expensive than TM

so i would say at that point who cares about that bit extraPWW needs to swap out the top 3 way on their f-15 e throttle grip for a 4 way+push hat & they could sell it as an A-10 throttle, they would then offer A-10, F-15E, F-16 & F-18 all of them using the same base too
SThe A-10 throttle (only because nobody else currently offers a a-10 specific throttle) and low end sticks like the t16000 are the only semi worthwhile offerings TM has imo
Hauch.. I checked that I paid 335 eur in 2011 for the whole Warthog kit (joystick + throttle). Inflation calculator says it would equal 424,50 eur in 2023's money.
HThe throttle still feels as new. The stick base's gimbal broke when I used a 10 cm extension with the stick :/
LWH throttle main board chip is vulnerable to static 
. I had to replace the chip and wiring in both throttle grips (and the 3-position switch in left throttle while I was at it). Better than new now, but of course STECS was released right after that

Ihi guys, are any of you flying the Apache with FFB pedals, what are your trim settings in DCS?
NThe pedal trim settings in DCS are useless since DCS doesn’t support FFB pedals. TelemFFB overrides the FFB spring for DIY pedals in DCS. Otherwise, all of the FFB commands meant for the cyclic get sent to the pedals as well.
BAhh but the feel of the cool metal....I notice it every time e I put my hands on the metal f18 super taurus throttle...I don't remember what the t37 and t38 stick grips felt like...kc135 yoke was metal...airbus stick is plastic...as much as we badmouth TM...warthog was king for a long time...and the pendulum pedals while exhibiting cheapness are a great design and have a real feel to them because they don't vary in width as you move them.
MWarthog was only "king" because there was nothing else on the market. As soon as there was competition, it got outshined, because the competition actually y'know, innovated
Byes but another way of looking at that is how far ahead of time they were able to bring a hotas to market...that they decided not to compete down the road is another story but so many of us enjoyed years of the warthog when it was the only game in town.
Nand I really don't see a reason to compare apples to oranges. Real viper grip is resin, so resin it should be (RS, TH). But real flanker grip is not resin, so it's kinda weird to be talking about MCGU/FLNKR as swinging a club on the end of an extension
NNot like the rhino is "inadequate" for any of these grips sooo
MMany real grips are resin but viper and warthog are both investment cast aluminum, which feels much different than zinc and feels closer to plastic. Essex still makes them.. I’ll link later when I get home
