I tried to switch back to game mode and just get an empty command line

This stinks, I really love the concept of my PC having a console like gaming mode, and then a desktop mode for web browsing, but it just breaks when I try to switch between them

Yes. CoolerControl. There may still be black screen bugs if you're on X11 so you have to use the web interface if so.

that’s almost certainly going to be a patch issue, I haven’t started testing the new Gamescope patches and I’ve never seen anything like that.
