I have no idea if this is part of firefox's current issues, but when I full screen a video on youtube, my desktop enviroment on my second monitor is completely unresponsive. Can't maximize anything from the taskbar, open programs from the desktop, nothing. But when I un-fullscreen the video, everything catches up and performs the actions I tried when it was frozen. Very weird.
Is there a way to manage my CPU boost within bazzite similar to windows power management? I have all the recommended plugins like HDD and LegionGoRemapper but I can only manage the TDP. My CPU is boosting like crazy in games and my temps are reaching 90° faster than my fans can ramp up..
My fans are spotless I clean them regularly with a handheld vacuum and brush. How can you say CPU boost won’t do a thing for that when my CPU is at 4.7-5.1ghz in games? You don’t see what’s wrong with that on an APU with a power budget?
I am unable to install Flatpak packages right now. I can download the files from the remote host, but the updates cannot be applied. It'll sit at 100℅ for like 3 minutes and then throw a generic error
What happens if you go to flathub, find the app and copy and paste the install script in the terminal? Does that work or also fail? You might get a better error at least
I’m aware my bro that’s why I said APU. At 20W you can maintain 3.2ghz on the CPU and 1800mhz on the GPU simultaneously, if you raise the wattage both can go up slightly. I’ve been closely managing clock speeds for months to get the best performance in windows. My problem is that the CPU is boosting to its max clock speeds and not leaving any power for the iGPU(800mhz). Im well aware of how it’s supposed to be running and 90° temps and these clock speeds ain’t it
Firefox was crashing all the time on a fresh install so I uninstalled it and now I'm trying to install Brave through Flatpak and it won't do it. Thinking back I should have kept Firefox long enough to be able to troubleshoot but it's been one of those days lol
I also want to mention that it will install all the way up to 70% super quickly, and then the rest of the 30% goes by very, very slowly. It is currently installing now.
I’m having problems with the CPU governor not my CPU boost settings. Sorry if I misspoke. I don’t want to disable boost and lock my CPU to 3.2, I want to change the governor settings so the clocks speeds act how they should. The normal range when using 10w on the CPU only is 2-4ghz and the temps always stays reasonable within that. It should never boost up to 5.1 because that takes 25w of power and causes the iGPU to drop down to its minimum of 800mhz.
I had simpledeckyTDP momentarily and possibly messed with it.. I want to use HDD as I prefer its TDP solution. Is there a way to change the CPU governance without simpledeckyTDP?
