Dear all, quite newbie’s questions.
How does the configurator works? My main sim is the Condor and it has native FFB support. How the configurator and the potentiometer besides kill switch work? Does the configurator setting override sim’s FFB signals?
I feel subtle buffeting on stalling. Is it possible to strengthen vibration at buffeting through the configuration software?

And more, what about TelemFFB for? I don’t know I can use it for the Condor.

Generally speaking, the configurator utility is used to set the max capabilities and characteristics of the Rhino.

The sliders on the settings tab set the max intensity for any of the 6 effect types. There is also a master gain control. No effect that is commanded by a game or app will be able to exceed the value that is configured for the applicable slider. The slider acts like a factor. So if you have spring set at %50, and a game sets the spring effect to %80, the resultant force will be

which is %40 of what the true max capability of the Rhino is.
The settings on the effects tab are used to generate basic effects on the Rhino when there is no game or app commanding FFB events. When a game or app starts an effect, these are overridden by those commanded from the game/app unless you have "Sticky" enabled. If you have "sticky" enabled for an effect type, the Rhino will ignore those sent by a game and keep the one defined in the Effects tab active.
The potentiometer can be bound to any of the effect type sliders or the master gain slider. It simply allows you to further adjust the value within the set slider value without having to open the configurator tool. Its most common to have it connected to either Master Gain or Spring.

TelemFFB does different things depending on the sim. For DCS and IL2 which have native FFB support, it is really just adding auxiliary effects like gunfire, engine rumble, etc. For MSFS and X-Plane which have no FFB support, it fully implements FFB based on telemetry that is read from the sim.

Condor is not supported by TelemFFB. There is a limited amount of telemetry available from Condor, but it is really not enough to be able to implement much of anything with TelemFFB.

To your question about the buffeting in condor. Generally, any effect that "shakes" is a Periodic type effect. Therefore, increasing the periodic effect slider in Configurator will increase the force for that effect type overall.

It's a bit slower than FedEx, ~7 days, if you wish I can quote FedEx, but its price is about twice.

I love my Rhino, but in DCS when flying A-10CII it reacts weird. In normal flight it pulls upwards all the time.
At full speed I have to trim down at maximum. I don't have this in F/A-18C & F-16C.
With the Virpil Base it is working fine.
I know it is intended to have this forward offset. But this trim issue makes the combination of Rhino + A-10CII unuseable.
Can I change the behaviour somehow?

getting this screen with a Warthog grip, but the buttons work. With a Virpil WarBrd I get all FFs and no buttons. Any help|?

There seems to be a strange interaction between the axis curve setting in DCS and force feedback.
If I set the curve setting of the axes on the A-10C in DCS to 0, it will no longer pull upwards.
I usually fly with a curvature of 20 - 25, which helps a lot for Air to Air refueling.
I had a very similar effect in the KA50 when trimming. It always seems to occur when the axis is shifted in the neutral position.

@Hiob i've intentionally set my Y axis belt tension almost as low as it can go (motor closer to pulley) without losing grip. It does help make the grinding less noticeable at the grip, but at the belt it is about the same and belt tension cannot solve the issue completely.

I think you want to have all your Rhinos axis curves at zero in DCS. Adjustments should be made in the Rhino software. Any adjustments in DCS will mess with the FFB.

Most likely the WarBrd grip plug pin(s) doesn't reach and make contact in the Rhino socket, have you pushed all the way in? Let me know if this persists, I can send you a replacement socket.

i don't have spray, but I have some superlube. Should I try putting a little on? But I thought the belt was not supposed to slip on the pulley, would that not exacerbate it

You can also move the center point by altering the calibration values. I don't know what exactly you want to achieve, but I'm confident that it can somehow be achieved with the configurator.

that is the idea, but I'm not sure where I would go from there. To a different tooth # motor pulley? I'm just following what @Subsonic (Protomaker) 's guide prescribes. afaik no one else following that guide has dealt with this before. The other gimbal creaking type issues I can find plenty of troubleshooting solutions for, but not this belt issue

might be gimbal related as well since I know this one is particularly bad and it's going to be rebuilt with some new parts next week. Might not be out of the question that vibrations are starting inside and traveling out to the belt via 74t pulley
