you can layer it, for installation step you can kinda translate from official instruction
https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/fedora/
the tldr is adding repo need to be done manually and substitute dnf into rpm-ostree, the rest should be more or less the same

also podman is already included, if you dont really need docker specifically you can use that

Docker Engine is included in Aurora dx iirc

I'm using portainer for my whole stack and podman isn't fully supported by portainer yet so that's pain, or otherwise I would ran off to podman

We have a distrobox container to run docker and it will export the socket to the expected location on the host.

No need to layer.

afaik they take really minimal resources by themself to be negligible, you only need to worries about application inside it taking resources

Wsl is actually a proper virtual machine, very optimized and not isolated, but a virtual machine none the less

In some way maybe. Windows NTFS partitions are mounted as network drives and you can run gui apps inside wsl(very poor performance but possible)

Yea. The virtualisation magic is real with WSL2. It works very good. Docker is, as always, not so fast on windows
