A"accessible to normal people" and "FOSS operating system based on linux" are diametrically opposed unfortunately
Athere is a point which too much freedom are a thing
Zyou have total freedom to run wild out of those defaults

Ai dont think its necessary to completely lock things down - just do whatever is possible to prevent a clueless user from fucking up during installation

Ayeah but maybe put those advanced setting a little bit hidden, maybe put a warning if opened

RArch users love documentation so im sure a text that says "-advance for advanced installation settings" would do the trick
Ano reason to lock things down post-install. The installer should just be somewhat infalliable
Aconsidering that's the part that can cause the most issues right out the gate
GYeah seriously though just keep all the freedom and accessibility but remove any ability to brick their sudo or other things (or administrative privileges)
