BThis realsim grip has about 1k on it. Since it’s a plastic you just get some shining of the surface

AThe wires here look thicker than those in my newer WH grip. When I disassembled to repair a broken CMS (my fault) the wires were very brittle and thin. Many of the solder joints broke as soon as the glue was removed and they were moved slightly. One of the wires broke internally as well. I re soldered everything and fixed the broken wire, and it worked
Show old is your grip? this one is from 2019... ish? and seems to have pretty much the same wiring

BThey don’t change the designs once manufacturing starts. That is costly

Balso gotta remember these are cast, and casting can have imperfections as well as internal voids and stresses. It was also a early model so even if the design diddnt change the processes likely have. I can also see that the finishing process on yours is very different than mine. On both of mine the powder coating is on the exterior only. yours has it on the interior as well.

Byeah I forget which alloy it is, but I do remember its not a high quality one. But im used to working with aluminum like 2024T3, 6061T6 5052 and other sheet type alloys

AOne thing they call it is pot metal. It's really low quality metal.
AI'll be thrilled if TM updates their grips with an aluminum grip like their competitors, would go well with the new AVA.

Band typically what i referred to it as. But i did remember it was some sort of Zinc allow like Zamak as mentioned above

Shonestly it would be a lot easier to justify the price they're charging if it was aluminum and had a stronger grip connector at the bottom
RWeird request, but can I ask to be moved back, like, a 150 spots in the queue? No time for DCS in the next couple of months 
JHaha, that screw hole on the right doesn't even have threads, that entire stem is held in by 1 screw which is wild
JI replaced that stem with a 3d printed one
Sit is threaded isn't it? you have to remove a bolt through that location to get the shell apart

Iyou are wrong, that whole is for the screw that lock the other part of the grip, it doesn't need to have thread
OWell guys, had my first flying lesson in almost a year off due to work , weather and a run in with Covid again.
Bought the rhino a while ago and have used it a bit but not enough.
Take off was similar, after 30 mins I was back from the death grip of the stick and relaxed, now the good bit.
I’m still doing circuits, came in and did a decent landing with a slight crosswind.
My instructor said that’s not bad for a year off.
My landings are normally shit.
Worth paying for , definitely, is it exactly the same, no but it’s a massive help.
I’d say a good 7/10

SHaving only used a Rift S, I can't speak to much. But my wishlist would include a good dynamic range, wide FOV, dynamic foveated rendering, good nosegap visibility (to check physical switches/charts) alt. solid AR passthrough.
I don't think there's a system available yet that does all of that, but you can get most of it with things like the Quest 3 or Pimax Crystal

Bbest is very subjective. Whats your budget, just flight sims, ease of use, fiddle-factor, etc
Punder 2000usd because I will use VR only for il2GB for sim racing I don’t use. I really don’t like wear VR. but I think triples os not enough for flight sims because of vertical FOV
PQuest 3 I already have but other guys say it is not good enough 
Swell The Warthog Project (if you know who that is) just got his looking as good as the Reverb G2 with passthrough on stream (till it crashed :P)

[Pimax Crystal (not the light) is very good for flight sims, especially DCS because of Quad Views Foveated. Massive performance gain. More FPS than Quest 3 while the image is significantly sharper.
A friend with quest 3 visited me on Saturday. He tried my Pimax Crystal (quad views/eye tracking) and said, he regrets to have not bought Crystal instead. he was impressed by the performance and the resolution/clarity at the same time.
He said it’s a bit heavy.

[So even without quad views, the Crystal has a better image.
I would say under 2000USD there is no alternative.
Somnium VR1 would be even better, quaility wise. But 2500-4000€.
