Well guys, had my first flying lesson in almost a year off due to work , weather and a run in with Covid again. Bought the rhino a while ago and have used it a bit but not enough. Take off was similar, after 30 mins I was back from the death grip of the stick and relaxed, now the good bit. Iβm still doing circuits, came in and did a decent landing with a slight crosswind. My instructor said thatβs not bad for a year off. My landings are normally shit. Worth paying for , definitely, is it exactly the same, no but itβs a massive help. Iβd say a good 7/10
Having only used a Rift S, I can't speak to much. But my wishlist would include a good dynamic range, wide FOV, dynamic foveated rendering, good nosegap visibility (to check physical switches/charts) alt. solid AR passthrough. I don't think there's a system available yet that does all of that, but you can get most of it with things like the Quest 3 or Pimax Crystal
under 2000usd because I will use VR only for il2GB for sim racing I donβt use. I really donβt like wear VR. but I think triples os not enough for flight sims because of vertical FOV
Pimax Crystal (not the light) is very good for flight sims, especially DCS because of Quad Views Foveated. Massive performance gain. More FPS than Quest 3 while the image is significantly sharper.
A friend with quest 3 visited me on Saturday. He tried my Pimax Crystal (quad views/eye tracking) and said, he regrets to have not bought Crystal instead. he was impressed by the performance and the resolution/clarity at the same time. He said itβs a bit heavy. Just wanted to share his comparison between this headsets.
So even without quad views, the Crystal has a better image. I would say under 2000USD there is no alternative. Somnium VR1 would be even better, quaility wise. But 2500-4000β¬.

Thank you very much for the announcement and cooperation. In this way, the availability of do-it-yourself kits for the Rhino can be ensured again. If someone has any questions or would like to place an order, please contact me.
Howdy, quick question. I'd like to build a helicopter rig, so I want to have as long of an arm as possible. Mounting the base horizontally with a right angle adapter would give me significantly more room, any reason this wouldn't work?
Seems like the roll axis would feel weird. The whole stick would be translating right and left instead of just pivoting. At least that's what I see in my head lol
Mounting it upside down would resolve that but then it'd be a 180 adapter and the horizontal arm would need be quite long to not hinder the ROM and it would move vertically when pitching back and forth. I see why nobody seems to have experimented with this
Quest3 has better lenses, displays are worse, also it does always use compression, while G2 isn't. However due to lenses being pancake instead of fresnel (g2) Quest3 can have some edge over G2 - Q3 is not not losing sharpness outside center of view while not moving your head, but just eyes. Just for clarifying. Pimax looks better, but it does have QA/Support issues, so it ends up bit of lottery. However alternatives are much more expensive
@SR-FWinger[73]_David @kaltokri I'm curious since I just don't see it in the images posted, what about the control board? Im assuming that is also in one of the kits? Unless im missing sometihng..
So the printed base comes in DIY parts, and I need to purchase VPFroce motor kit in advance, is that right? Also, could you shed some light on the differences between the motors sold by VPForce? Those are 57BLF03, 86BLF04 and 86BLF03. Which one should I go for?
Yes, the kit includes all parts except the motor kit (1. DIY FFB kit: 57BLF03 x2 + USB - 299 β¬ (+ VAT)) and power supply unit. Both needed to be purchased separately.
Can I buy a power supply unit at VPForce website? I didn't see a PSU in the order request form. If they don't have it, what specifications should I look for? Thanks
I see some people make collectives with the Rhino parts. What would be the advantages of using FFB for a collective, apart from some effects like airframe vibration, weapons and touchdown?
