I installed bazzite on my devices a while back, so I can't say anything about recent installations. But I do know that I didn't have the custom bazzite suspend animation until more recently.
i might not be making sense because i think i poisoned myself today but i think as long as you can just change some settings to get the old anims back, it's a non-issue?
Yeah, that script you pointed to is definitely the ‘culprit’, in this instance. Don’t get me wrong, the Bazzite one is nice and all, but not being able to change to another one any more is an issue.
Also I retract what I said. If they were doing that, the animations would probably be overwritten with our workaround, since steam client is started after we move the animations in
but yeah i just lean towards the side of valve maybe not going out of their way to implement this properly because it opens the door for actual licence violating companies to debrand their stuff
Another weird observation in all of this is what happens if I replace the oled_startup.webm file from the steamui-folder to the deck_startup.webm one within uioverrides. Then the “correct” Steam startup plays, naturally, but it plays at 2x size for some reason. Making it appear pixelated and ‘blown up’
