I would actually have them both connected at the same time. Would be very inconvenient for me to disconnect them as well (they're both M.2, and one slot is covered by a massive GPU, so I'd have to remove the GPU to access the slot).

also since you have keyboard available you can access the User CreationUser Creation section to change the username and password.
if you did not have a keyboard then you should not enter the user creation as you will just blank out the defaults and be unable to type anything.

dual booting is mostly tricky because of windows shenanigans making it harder than it should be (and sometimes causing it to fail because of said shenanigans anyway when you turn them off)
