ADC out of range

Hello,

I have finished setting up my V Core 4 exactly according to the instructions.
As the title says, I have a problem with the following error:

MCU ‘toolboard_t0’ shutdown: ADC out of range
Sensor ‘extruder’ temperature 65707422.564 not in range 0.000:350.000

I have studied all the posts here in the Discord for quite a long time now and tried numerous suggestions, nothing helps.

When I measure the thermistor manually, I get a resistance of 1.089, so it should be OK. The jumper on the EBB42 is also set.

I have just re-crimped the cables and that didn't change anything either.

The correct thermistor is also stored in the config.

I'm at the end of my tether right now. I urgently need the printer. Hope you can help me

I am guessing it is not actually a PT1000

It is the original one from the Phaetus Rapido Plus UHF Hotend 2 that was supplied to me by Ratrig with my order. According to the manufacturer's website, it is a PT1000.

I would have to completely dismantle the print head to take a photo, and there is no sticker on the cables. If this is really necessary, I will of course do it. But I don't think this is the problem.

Yes i have.

The software is also up to date. The board and EBB have now been flashed several times. It has been tested with and without jumpers. No change.

If I change the temperatures in the cfg and thus bypass the limits, the following picture of extremely fluctuating temperatures results:

Looks like bad thermistor or bad connection to the toolboard.

The connections have now been redone 3 times. It doesn't matter whether the thermistor is connected or not, the jumper is set or not, the values go crazy.

Yes, it has now been checked several times and the setup wizard has also been run several times, including flashing the board and the EBB42.

The JST 2 connector has also just been replaced with one from my own stock and has not brought any change. The values continue to go crazy.

Normally the value should not change if nothing is plugged in.

The resistance remains the same. Change only in the 0.001 range due to slight movement of the measuring tips. Measured directly on the board with the thermistor plugged in.

The pins on the board output a value of -3.292V DC.

No. First problem: They forgot to send the package with the frame parts. For the second problem, the holes on the rr_vc4_toolhead_front part for the 2x M3x40 countersink screw were much too small. They were only 2.1mm for a 3mm screw, so the head of the screw broke out without much force when tightened with a precision mechanic's screwdriver. I was able to remove the screw, luckily the part was not damaged. I then widened the holes with a dremel with a drill stand and a 2.8mm drill bit and ordered new screws. Amazon was quicker with the delivery of the new screws than the support response to the problem.

Short update: After contacting Ratrig support, they will send me a new EBB42. I will then give feedback as to whether it was due to the board once it has arrived and been installed.

Update 2: After I was informed by Ratrig support last week that I would receive a new board, nothing has happened since. I also did not receive a tracking link as promised in the email. I then wrote another email on Tuesday. The new board was then sent by express yesterday and arrived today. It was then installed straight away. All problems have been solved. Apparently there is a bad batch of boards. The printer works with the new one and I can finally working on the printer.

Be sure to not over tighten your belts, it causes the bearings to fail early

The belts were set exactly according to the appropriate Hz number. Corexy as well as the Hybrid. So nothing was tensioned too tightly.

Ratrig is aware of the problem with the bearings, apparently I'm not the only one. That's why they recommend using the heavy duty bearings, as the others are not designed for the loads.

heavy duty idlers are indeed beefier, but all idlers die faster with higher tension.

Here you go my friend. VC4 500 - Looks all over the place Took me a little while to find the link. I did it exactly according to the table. It's not my first 3D printer either, I use them in productive operation in my company. We use 3D printing to produce all our trim parts and no printer has ever had as many problems as the Ratrig. It feels more like an alpha product than a release candidate or a finished product.

Please don't get me wrong, I like the printer, its features, the software and co. Big applause for the time you put into the software. But the problems are piling up and are mostly due to poor to non-existent quality control. Plus there are massive bad design decisions like cutting and crimping the contacts of the thermistor etc just to push the ebb42 through.
