Why when i do a physics drop do things fall through the landscape?
DWe had a convo about this with another user before, and the conclusion there was that most likely it is due to the objects being scattered being so small so they don't work well with the landscape collision and we have not found a solution yet to this

BOk funkiest way to make dash your complete asset manager!
I have a huge project using lots of assets from different asset packs - so dash took a little bit of time to load. I came up with this process - time consuming and uses disk space but in long term a lifesaver.
I have a huge project using lots of assets from different asset packs - so dash took a little bit of time to load. I came up with this process - time consuming and uses disk space but in long term a lifesaver.
- Create a Folder for all of your Assets Packs from FAB to live in
- Install each Asset pack into a seperate project - Categorize Sub folders if you wish in the project and shuffle things in this project to match your way of working (eg move Static Meshes into a particular folder etc according to your general way of working)
- Open Each Project and Scan and Tag with Dash after you have done this
- Now in main project you can open dash preferences and choose which asset pack you want to work with and bring in any assets which will have the folder structure from the asset pack you set up
AThis is a fun trick! 
the external content browser support is really underutilized, and it's by far one of the best features of Dash's content browser imho!
In the future, I hope we can just make the process of loading 10K-60K+ assets much more streamlined, without bloating your projects either.

AI would love to have control more like this on the landscape shaping. So not only height, but limiting how high it goes (so you get plateaus, and how low it can go so you get flat land. And them being able to control the Z lift to create craters.
AI can imagine the terrain deformers to have another spline on the sides to spawn in rocks and cliffs hehe
D100%! Combining terrain tool with path scatter in a compound like that would give cool results!

DAlmost like that yes! You would need all your assets added to a UE project, and then Dash can compute them in there, then you would have access to search and use them from other UE projects!
DHey @nolanlarsont No not possible right now. In order for Dash to see and to be able to compute the assets, you need to add them to a UE project. But you could crease a "assets" UE project, add the assets there, compute them, and then you get a similar experience as you described as you can search and use those assets in other UE projects without manually importing them

DWith our "Draw Curve" tool, it does exactly this, you draw a curve that aligns to the surface below! And if you already have curves, we have a "project curves" tool

AWhat am I doing wrong with these vines? I can't spray paint them onto the object or place them there. According to the tools pannel I have it set to the correct surface, but as far as Origi8n ghoes it is creating an actor and Placing it far away.
I have used vines on this model before and it works, but there must be something in the environment that is causing this to happen.

fyi, if the draw curve tool is creating wonky curves, it is probably cause the surface detection is blocked by some volumes/regions in your scene
Try hiding them when you draw and it may work better!

Try hiding them when you draw and it may work better!AIs thjere a way to change the material of the vines? I am talking about the brown vines and not the leaves.
DYep yep! You can just zoom in and drag and drop a new material on them
AAh but not through the dash material editor. Got it!
BOk got a fun one - could we use dash to turn a regular vehicle (city sample vehicle etc) it a apocalyptic one using dash tools, mesh paint, material blend, decals - this challenge i give to @DanielFreden (Dash for UE5) since he showed off his skills with ice

Dfor something like that, you better off, using third party terrain software, exporting to stamps/LandMass or Patches , or a brush. Making it more non destructive, then use Dash to handle the environment world building/level design. Just an FYI.
Dregular vehicle would need to be remodeled in order for Dash to do that in pieces..
DBut not hard to do, for modeler artist/3d modelers ( just time consuming) compared to normal vehicle modeling..... I used Dash, to handle most of my level design spawning, and with my current project its all Post Apoc. Theme. with make shift vehicles. But Dash is alot of fun, to build levels with.

BYou can do all this with edit layers you don’t need 3rd party software
Dof course, but its alot better/easier and more common with 3rd party.
BNot really as I can do non destructive editing on a landscape and set layer height, et cetera, and also use PCG on the land on the edit layer so I’m not doing destructive editing, also I can use the landscape brush to have the same effect without having to mess with the third-party software

I think perhaps that this could be due to some volumes/regions that you have in the scene that is making the curve tool not "see" the surface/object you are trying to paint over. Do you have some volumes/regions you can try hiding and seeing if the draw curve works better?

DCould you share a pic of your outlier? On your first pic I guess that the red things in the background could be something like that. Could be pcg volume, world partition volume etc etc
