Can anyone confirm that animated thumbnails don't count towards streamed minutes when viewed - seems vague on the thumbnails page in the docs, as it mentions Stream Analytics ("Viewing animated thumbnails does not count toward billed minutes delivered or minutes viewed in Stream Analytics." - emphasis mine)

Is there a reasonable limit on the number of live inputs that can be created, beyond general API limits? I would be looking at creating, then days later deleting, a couple dozen channels a week. Any issues with this?

Not currently, at least not automatically. Could have an external process that checks upload date of videos and deletes ones older than x

Hi everyone,

I am trying to embed a video as a Hero Baner on my website and everything worked fine, I uploaded my video, got the embed snippet, and tweaked until everything would work. I am on Wordpress and using Elementor.

My issue seems simple but I cannot find a solution, when I check on tablet or phone the image does not fit the screen, instead it's stuck on top of the page and leave a lot of blank space below, instead of filling the page . I have tried many things but it will just always keep the aspect ratio.

Does anyone know how to solve this? I can provide my snippet, or other information if needed. And my apologies if it wasn't the right place to post this question.

I got that part working with Uppy on the frontend and Laravel on the backend. However, cancelling an upload is the issue as the TUS client library expects the termination extension on the server as you know. So I’ve got a half-working uploader here lol.

Oh my apologies yes, I mean the video. Basically on computer it's perfect. But when I switch to phone, then the video remains 16:9 and doesn't fill the whole screen like a Hero Baner would, or like it does on Computer.

A good working exemple of this would be: agobay.com (not sure I am allowed to post links). Their video takes the full screen both on computer and also phone. Unlike me/

Hello,
I am trying to use Cloudflare Stream to upload large videos. I'm following the instructions here: Cloudflare Direct Creator Uploads.

I completed the process using the tus-js-client, which I set up with React.
After successfully uploading the video, I received the following URL from tus:
https://upload.cloudflarestream.com/tus/b165bd7b70f3ec4e54d11c747a905734?tusv2=true.
However, the video is not showing up in my Stream dashboard.
I feel like I might be missing something. Could you please help me figure this out?

Just a note for anyone curious, if you need a thumbnail of a live stream, you can get it from the video generated when a video is live, the uid of which you can get from the live stream webhook API. If you poll this thumbnail URL, you will get a frame from some time in the last segment
Useful functionality that isn't explicitly mentioned in the docs, and can get a bit confusing when looking at differences between live stream and video generated from stream

Thanks for the information. But as I am uploading video on stream using tus for resumable-uploads
and even after completing this all and get success response from stream regarding video details in which it is mentioned that video is ready to stream
and if I am trying to play the video from preview url, playbacks url but it is showing 500 internal server error from cloud stream, even video is not playing on stream dashboard even it is in ready state. But I am getting the thumbnail of the video correct in the response.
What is this case?
Can anyone explain?

does anyone have any ideas on how most clients deal with only buffering a certain amount of video and stopping until the user watches close to the buffered amount before buffering more.

e.g. youtube wil buffer a small amount of video and you must watch close to the end of that buffered amount first. This helps to stop downloading more than the user might watch and having to pay for streamed minutes even if the user only watches a couple of minutes of a 1 hour video.
