DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line arg

I currently have 5 games installed, I've beat one, one works, and the other three are all broken different ways. 😭 One is giving me this error. I tried searching for it here on the server, but wasn't able to figure out what to do from it. (One seemed to be a Marvel Rivals thing where the game was being launched from the wrong directory? I'm not playing Rivals.) Logs attached.

Could you update to 2.16.1 and give a new log

Ye, i suspect some stuff like that but wanted to see a normal proton log first

yeah, I've been wondering if the nvidia isn't being registered for some reason - on yet another game I have that is broken I have mangohud up bc it'll load but then freeze up, and it always shows 0% GPU I'll grab those logs

can you tell me what's wrong? the logs do say PROTON_LOG is 1 does leaving WINEDEBUG in there somehow mess it up? I'll try tinkering in the meantime

You should be using GE 9-25 or or 9-26

that's really weird, bc I have 26, and it's set to use Proton-GE-latest

You need to click that refresh button It indicates there is a new version that you need to get via clicking that It doesnt auto update

šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø I have my package manager always grab the latest, hadn't realized it isn't synced with Heroic, guess that means I have each Proton twice

I can probably find this, but do you know where I can set where Heroic looks for Proton? I can probably just sync them up found it, nvm Settings -> General -> Custom Wine/Proton Paths

Your driver setup is busted most likely, try with newest GE still as some old proton versions had an issue that made dual gpu setups blow up

Yw @CarriePikh Btw you know that with zen kernel you have to use nvidia-dkms package right nvidia one only works with arch kernel

most likely? idk, but will reboot now I would personally lol if the answer to all of this is turn it off and turn it on again

here's a log from trying to run, am I right that it looks like some kind of driver issue?

Look at those err err err You were being told that is some sort of driver issue And yes, that seems to be the case I guess purge all Nvidia packages, reboot system and then install once again after reboot
other-emerald
other-emeraldOP•3mo ago
something very weird is going on, now nvidia-smi has found the GPU again as I've been getting back in the groove, I have now remembered the ultimate weapon: turning it off again and on again repeatedly we'll see if this helps, thank you very much for your patience and help

Well, yw but in that case you might be suffering from modules randomly not loading issue https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_module#Early_module_loading
