Trouble Launching Steam Whatsoever.

I downloaded heroic today in hopes of finally being able to run the windows version of steam, but much like every other method I've tried, it's not working. Unlike the others, though, I can ask for help here. For context, I'm running a 2020 Macbook Air with an 8 GB memory, 256 GB base storage, a 500 GB external Hard Drive, and an Apple M1 processor.

When I click to start steam, I'm met with this error message claiming that steamwebhelper isn't functioning properly, and that SteamOs won't be able to function. I've tried all the options it lists and none of them work. Screenshot provided.

heroic should have a button that handles installing steam for you so you can avoid that error

Yes, I installed steam. It's not a matter of installing it, it's a matter of launching it.

This screen shown in the screenshot is post me installing it, before it can give me the chance to log in.

which wine & macos version are you using? if you are looking for any method of launching steam, try crossover. not crossover wine from heroic (they are outdated) but crossover itself.

@Pheebs how did you install it? It will only work on M1 if you use the install steam button from heroic. The official steam from valve will only work with crossover.
