TheSims exe file not founded

I tried to play TheSims4 on Fedora with Heroic, but the logs says that there isn't an exe file. The game starts (it doesn't show anything) and after some seconds it stops.

I can tell you what the problem is, but I cannot provide a resolution as I haven't tracked it. The problem is with the EA launcher. I have seen some people toss out possible solutions like running the cachyos custom Proton, but I cannot personally confirm these solutions.

the default installation with the ea launcher chooses a non existent path, if i change to an existing one it takes more time to download but i still get the same problem
