AI tried a couple of ways to detect the extra strokes - but couldn't.
Athey weren't there on export, didn't seem to be in the unity scene. but i might have done something dumb

CIt's not a huge problem, as long as the merged thing has a unique parent in the hierarchy from the original

CGrouping and the breaking by colour tools in toolkit have been saving my life
CI just need something which breaks apart by individual strokes.

CYe I was playing with that, didn't get around to split strokes though, if it exists I'll take it!
Ado the exported meshes use submeshes? i guess not
Ablender must have a "split mesh into non-connected parts" feature?
Aat a certain point we have to accept we're not a mesh editing program and that "just use blender" is a valid workflow!
Aespecially as you can script/automate blender quite easily.
CYeah it's very common among all 3d packages, just trying to not jump into blender every time because I'm also iterating on the original scenes
Asomeone wrote a cool unity extension that allowed you to call blender commands from within the unity editor
Ait basically exported the mesh, called some blender python and reimported the mesh. it was quite extensible as well

OIf i export an object (eg an animal) piece by piece, but don’t move it, when I import all the pieces into unity, will they automatically reassemble themselves? As in they will be in the same position as when I exported them so i don’t have to try and reassemble them in unity (which I find too hard) - thank you!!
AWhy are you exporting piece by piece? Is it because you want to split the mesh in Unity? There might be better ways to do that.

Ahmmmm. we did do a bit of work on allow exports to split every stroke into a different mesh but it didn't get finished.
Ahowever - it's fairly easy to do that via Blender or Probuilder
ADo groups get preserved on export? that might be a good compromise.
Osorry theres a way to group strokes together whilst in open brush?

Combines the currently selected strokes into a single group. They will move and scale as one. You can ungroup them easily by clicking again.

MYou build via the GUI Tilt->Build (or something like that)? And the output was in or something (i forgot the exact details but it should be something similar)?
