Apologies, we never really found the fix, it seems really intermittent and setup dependent! could I possibly send you a debug build later that might reveal more info?
It's using external textures which are on tiltbrush.com (and still are!) but interestingly, lens studio doesn't understand how to fetch remote textures by the looks of it! Anyways, we've already got a patch for this on our beta branch, it looks for textures in the same folder (which is what lens studio is expecting), we did it to remove our dependency on tilt brush stuff
I hope this is the right place to ask. I am trying to import a tiltbrush.glb file into unity version 2020.3.7 for a coursera project. Here’s what I have set up so far:
the toolkit sdk -steamVR plugin -I am using the provided steamVR camera at the default settings -valve index headset The problem is when I run it, in the headset the right side view is dropping some of the brushstrokes. The left side view shows everything. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this and any help would be super appreciated. Or if someone could point me in the right direction that would be great too! Thanks so much.
Woah, I had no idea procreate had a 3D mode now! So the incompatibility is probably that the brushes use vertex colours instead of a UV. I believe if you're getting them from sketchfab they attempt to do some of the conversion process but it's only for some brushes. are you working with sketchfab models exclusively or could you try exporting manually from OB?
Yeah the 3D painting features are really cool imo. I’m only using sketchfab bc it’s so easy for students to upload. I’m using this in a HS Art class. I’ll look into exporting straight from OB but I’m thinking it’ll make a lot more work for me.
Another poke for me to get to Icosa integration sooner rather than later That totally makes sense, I'll see what I can do. What ingest format are you using out of the two?
Just a heads up that the hulls do not have UVs thats why they do not bake properly in unity. You have to bring them into Blender or substance painter to create new ones for them to work.
So does it just fail to import if there's no UVs, even if they're blank? I'm surprised because procreate is kinda making it's own UV maps when you paint on the objects
Zandy's probably right, you may just need to do a bit of pre-processing first just to set them up. Will note this for pipeline improvements though, if that's something we can support our end!
okay further details um it works again if i restart the app but i can only take one screenshot and i cant toggle to other modes (gif etc) before it bugs out again
