Update! The dryer is here and... it turns out I may have come down with a mild case of the stupids. My 3kg rolls are way wider than a normal 1kg spool. I have 1kg spools. I just use them on my Prusa since I don't use such huge prints. But I still want to try this thing. My 1kg and 3kg spools are different brands and even without the dryer my Prusa does perfect prints almost every time on the 1kg. So I'm going to try the 1kg Overture on the RatRig and try to mount my 3kg Polymaker on the prusa just to see if there's any changes between the two. Now that being said, anybody know where I can find and how I can mount a filament runout sensor for my RatRig? If I'm going to use smaller rolls on big prints I'd like to not accidentally lose a whole roll while I'm away on my 12 hour shifts at work.

Well I ordered one. It'll be here Tuesday. Everything I've read seems to indicate that the ones that can hold 2 1kg spools will hold a 3kg spools just fine. Wish me luck.

I'm looking on Amazon and I see some that can hold 2 rolls of 1 kg. Would one like that hold a 3 kg roll? That's what I use for my RatRig

Infill failure
Problem solved. Needed to adjust slicer settings from default to my .6 nozzle. I thought I had done it already.

I haven't. I just finished putting this thing back together after is killed itself months ago with a blob of death. But I'm using the same infill pattern I've always used and it's never given me issues before. What do your retraction settings look like?

PETG Problems
So checking my settings (I use Super Slicer) my EM is .94. Not sure how much tampering I should do with that. I can't find a setting for pressure advance though. I may knock the EM down a bit at a time to see what difference it makes but idk if I should go all the way to .8 right away lol

PETG Problems
So I haven't done very much. I admit I am not very knowledgeable about the more technical bits of 3D printing despite having been doing it for a number of years now. I have gotten my retraction pretty well tuned which was something I messed with in an attempt to solve stringing a while back. But as far as the extrusion multiplier and pressure advance, I am not familiar with these. I've heard of them but don't have any experience messing with them.

Well now my extruder isn't heating up at all so I guess I've figured out my problem. No idea how it happened but I've got some parts to order and work to do. Ugh....

It was the one holding the wires for the thermistor and heater together I believe. Tiny white one.

So I took my sock off and the tiny zip tie looks like it burnt off and fell down in 3 pieces. Sock probably needs replacing for sure. But it still stays on. Would it being just a little too high up effect it that much?

Wires are relatively new though so wear seems unlikely. I have the Toolhead Upgrade foe the V-Core 3 which came with the Rapido, and I only did this upgrade a few months ago. The silicon sock is on but now that I am looking at it, there's a possibility it might be a little too high up on the extruder. There's some tearing to it I caused when trying to pry it off when some filament cooled up inside it. I'll try adjusting that and going from there. Where can I find a replacement sock?

extrusion issues
It was the 3.1 500, running PETG and no enclosure. I just slowed it down and decided to see what happens. Next attempt went perfectly for the first 24 hours until I came home from work and apparently I had a nasty layer shift, killing my print... it was a 6 day print. Time to start over....
