Stripped screws holding Y rails
welding is out of the question since I don’t have the equipment :’)
I just tried with superglue and with a 5min epoxy I had at home but I couldn’t get the key to stick decently inside, I didn’t use much since I’m afraid it can spill outside the socket and cause a mess since the printer is laying on its side right now
I wouldn’t like risking to damage the rail with epoxy or causing any worse damage

thanks! and sorry for being late, you can see my current bed mesh here: https://discord.com/channels/582187371529764864/1373391715318104065/1373391715318104065
I think it's not bowing but I'm still figuring out the best way to fix it, any help is greatly appreciated!

fixing a twisted frame that doesn't budge - Vcore 3.1 300
I mean it makes sense on paper, though I have to get my hands on some 0.1/0.2mm shims first ahah
And anyway, since I would have to put it/them inside one of the screws that hold the rail to the frame, I’d have to disassemble part of the X carriage in the process(?)

by shimming you literally mean sanding it down with a machine? ahah
I really need to dive deeper and find some other way, I even tried putting a thick rag between the extrusion and the hammer to avoid damage but the results were really minimal
might be a dumb question but, don't I risk to bend the extrusion or cause some kind of permanent damage to it?

hi! It's been a while since you posted, but do you have any details on how you reached that result?
@sherbs I have to thank you as well for the support since you solved some doubts I had on the topics, but I still haven't figured it out completely, could I ask you to check the issue I posted just now on the fix-my-mesh section?

Is this belt tension or something else?
I have a really similar issue on this V3.1 I got used, I never replaced the belts to look at the pulleys well enough but I guess I definitely have to check!
Could I also ask how "removable" the blue glue you used is? I'm kinda tempted to try it especially on those parts that I rarely check and might come loose

Regularly spaced lines on pieces (Z banding?)
yes, in that case (as seen in the pics) it was set to inner/outer but switching to inner/outer/inner only seems to mitigate it, it doesn’t solve it completely

Yeah you should have seen the leadscrew that was attached to it lol
that's why the problem persisted even after replacing the screw

@blacksmithforlife 🇺🇸 @TheTik if you happened to know:
the only spare part I have on hand is this cheap knockoff stepper I got from the assistance team of another brand for the Z axis of another (cheap) printer
it doesn’t have any labels, it’s a bit smaller and the shaft is like 1/2mm shorter
would it be a terrible idea to try it out?

At this point I might order again from RR, hoping it won’t take like a month like last time (even though I just ordered 1kg of filament and a bunch of spares)

Italy, I was looking for European sites and the only one I found so far is 3DO, which has 10€ of shipping fee anyway, on top of making me pay 10€ more for the motor
so like, 35€ total

so I guess it doesn’t count unfortunately, also it might have been damaged during shipping so I really have no alternatives

stepper_z
stepper_z1
stepper_z2
(the rear one was stepper_z1 for me)
if anyone needed this in the future
