They have a size chart which is pretty accurate, and did a follow up email ask about the fit before sending them out. I think their sizes are on the smaller end - i got a size 8, which I guess is a large. I almost always wear S/M for pants.

Overcoat cost
Depending where you live, you can probably afford to wait and shop around for a few months before you’ll have a chance to wear it even. This kind of coat isn’t that hard to find, especially if you’re cool with secondhand.

coats like this?
I had a saved search for “tweed (raglan, balmacaan, overcoat, topcoat)” and got a real nice one for $120. I found getting one with the drapey raglan sleeves was a little harder than a standard padded overcoat and settled for a more structured look, but they have lots of both.

I think the one on the right looks a bit longer and has a lower buttoning point, but could also be that the image is just bigger? The lapels definitely sweep in a way the one on the left doesn’t.

90s Polo Ralph Lauren Polo Coat tailoring advice
Im in a similar situation and have been finding it valuable to live in a coat like this before tailoring it. Get used to how it fits in your wardrobe and get a feel for what you like and don’t like about the actual piece, rather than the one in your head.

I’ve been having small slips with the commando soles on metal surfaces on rainy days. Mostly wore timbs, sneakers, and gum soles before, and never had issues in 10 years. It’s fine 90% of the time, but not ideal for that situation.
Wanted these specifically as all weather winter boots, so unfortunate that they’re not right for that exact situation.

I’m not sure if I got those exact ones, but I got a similar pair from Meermin beginning of January. I like them. They tried to get me to buy ones that were way too small, idk what was up with the attendants. had to bring them in and exchange.
The soles are slippery for the NYC subways on rainy days though. Low key looking forward to adding heel taps just for grip purposes.
