CoolerControl on a Asus TUF B850 motherboard

Hello there, I'm having trouble setting up coolercontrol so that it recognizes my case fans and CPU fans connected to the motherboard. My current setup is a Ryzen 7 9700x on a Asus TUF Gaming B850 Plus motherboard. I know that I could "just control the fans through BIOS" but that doesn't let me set the fan speed based on the GPU temps which is what I want. ...

Swap

I have been running Bazzite for about 3 weeks now, and for the most part it runs quite well. A few minor hickups here and there but nothing I have not been able to figure out and fix. However, one thing that has been pretty consistently happening to me is when I have my computer on for a long time and play a lot of games over that time I get a freeze when trying to shutdown. I had no idea what was causing it, so I looked at the logs and found 'Failed deactivating swap dev-zram0.swap' and 'Failed deactivating swap dev-disk-by\x2ddiskseq-3.swap' I found a post on a Fedora forum that talked about how they also got shutdown freezes when their swap was full (As seen in the System Monitor)....

I broke my distrobox?

I might have deleted some stuff in .local/share/containers, now i can neither enter or remove my distrobox. help?

Solution:

doing podman container rm Fedora_42 seems to have fixed my issue. thank you!

Kernel Panic 1-2x a day (BIOS settings?)

Since day1 I get a kernel panics 1-2x a day. Expected it to be driver related, but since I'm apparently the only one, I suspect it might be actually BIOS related. I wouldn't be surprised even default settings on this motherboard do some unsolicited overclocking. Steam games NOT launching at all no matter the proton version

I just installed bazzite as I'm over windows and want to try Linux. I'm completely new and I think I got everything working but no game on steam launches at all. How do I fix this??

I have two drives and my first drive is showing up as expected, but my second one is no longer showing up after a computer restart. All of my steam games were on it and now steam can't find it. What happened?

fastfetch config issue

Ok this is probably a stupid question. So I've got Bazzite installed and am working on a few things to personalize it. Having an issue with fastfetch. I have my config edited in my home folder. I've updated bazzite-neofetch.sh and commented out neofetch as well as neowofetch. Edited alias fastfetch to point to my .config... alias fastfetch='/usr/bin/fastfetch -c ~/.config/fastfetch/config.jsonc' But it's still showing the stock config. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Am I missing something? Feel like I am. ...

openvpn not connecting via wifi and networking settings

Just installed bazzite kde. I downloaded my openvpn config file and opened it with the importer. It imports fine, but doesn't connect. I can't find any logs either.

Legion Go S TDP Hotkey

At some point during the last few updates the TDP hottey was changed from Legion L + Y to Legion R + Y. While it still works, the Legion R button is linked to the Steam side menu so changing TDP using the hotkey also opens that menu. On to my question. Is there a way to change which Legion button HHD uses to change TDP? I've looked over the bazzite documentation and looked through the system settings in HHD, Steam, and Desktop but can't find a way to change this. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with terminal to figure this out on my own. Any help is appreciated....

How to install or run from github

Hello, this is embarassing because I'm a complete newbie...Is there a way to get steps on installing or running this? https://github.com/ToadKing/wii-u-gc-adapter I don't even know how to install or run the prerequisite libudev and libusb(x)....

Update here, the Mayflash adapter works perfectly out of the box 🥲 Thank goodness The other adapters started giving me issues on PC even with Zadig, they're just probably deprecated Thank you guys for being quick to help...

GameCube Controller with Mayflash Adapter JSTest Calibration

I'm trying to use a GameCube controller with the Mayflash USB adapter. In GameCube mode, Dolphin and Ship of Harkinian both recognise it, but Ship of Harkinian doesn't give me a way to calibrate the joystick, and neither does System Settings. I found that if I put it in PC mode, JSTest-GTK can see it as /dev/input/js1 and I can correctly calibrate it, and fix some broken axes bindings. However, in PC mode, neither Dolphin nor Ship can see it, and the calibration in JSTest doesn't seem to be getting applied; JSTest will report the new calibration, System Settings doesn't. System Settings actually sees the controller is /dev/input/event28, so it thinks it's looking at a different controller. So I can either run it in a way that Dolphin can use it natively, but Ship will have a dodgy calibration, or I just can't use it at all. Is there a solution to this? Is there a way to save the JSTest calibration and correctly apply it to the controller?...

Hi, I´ve switched from CachyOS to Bazzite recently as many of my steam games would not launch no matter which version of Proton I ran. Unfortunately the issue persists so it seems a bit deeper than the Arch-based distro having been a bit hasty with updates. I can´t pin down the issue completely, but I can say for sure that Unreal Engine 5 games are not starting. Dota 2 audio latency

Hi team, I’m new here so I’m sorry if I break any rules. Bazzite has been great so far, everything works flawlessly. I’m currently using and AMD Ryzen 7 and a 4060 Nvidia GPU. I only have this weird issue on the game Dota 2 from Steam where after some minutes audio starts to have some latency, you know I hit things or make actions in-game and the audio comes a second after or so. USB “Drivers” crashing???!!!

Not sure what the problem is. I have a ASU’s laptop advantage edition, so full AMD, which I am told it’s the best brand to use with Bazzite. I have a a USB keyboard plus a mouse that I use, no dongles wired devices, and suddenly they just stop working, no mouse, no keyboard, no error screen, nothing, not even the laptop’s keyboard or touchpad work. All I can do is do a hard reboot. Any ideas? Thank you...
