Cartographer Feature Request

I'm not sure if some of the data can be cached in savefile to reduce the amount of time it takes to build cartographer map data on load. With a somewhat larger save file (can attach) it takes quite a while (30s-2 minutes depending on the time allocated in mod settings) to process the world after loading and start drawing the map. I don't think this is anything high priority, and it may be on your ideas list already, but I figured I would share my 2 cents worth. Thank you for such an awesome mod even if this feature request isn't worth it (of course you have limited time and probably many other projects as well)...

I got a crash report from a Cartograph user that they're keep getting a crash after updating the mod to >0.8.3: https://github.com/yeshjho/Cartograph/issues/4 They are running on Linux via Epic/Heroic. They tried restarting their PC, verifying the game files, and using different SML versions. ...
Solution:
Update, their environment were deprecated and they were able to solve the issue by switching to ProtonGE from WineGE.
I was able to fix the problem 🙂 Your comment about the environment let me try out a few more things....

FicsIt Trading causes crashing on load in 1.0

@sli7e Unfortunately, I've isolated SF crashing to FicsIt Trading. With all other mods disabled, FicsIt Trading still crashes the save every time it finishes loading. It happens when I try to load my main save from 2023 in 1.0. I know that 1.1 is coming soon so there'd be no point in fixing it now, but I think this is useful to know. Solution:
Hi Kresny, pre 1.0 saves just dont work. The best workaround I know of is to load and save the save, without the mod. (to remove the mod) And rebuild the buildings.

circuitry question

wondering if there is any way to rename every wire in an array, since after awhile if you have so many connected wires you tend forget to what the wire represents unless you write it up somewhere.
Solution:

"Tabbing out" of Calculator results in a softlock

The "In Game Calculator Mod" has a feature that allows you to control the game again with the calculator still open. However, it is not allowing me to switch back. This initially occurred when I hit escape while using the calculator to close it; however, because I was tabbed into the game, it instead opened the pause menu. Solution:
Yep I'm aware of this, I do plan on removing that bins in the next version but for now just don't use the toggle mouse bind. I can't fix that darn bug, believe me I me tried

Refined Power

When i place a windmill or my friend places a windmill im the onlyone who can see it spin. Why cant my friend see the windmill spin when its spinning on myside?

did the duplicators cause this or was it icarcus building?

So I was building the refined power Icarcus with the railgun and then this happed as I was getting DD small downloaders and magic spliters set up then the game crashed. I know I hit some entity limit.

Underground Belts causing crash

I'm not sure if I'm using the mod correctly or not, but the "Add Conveyor Input" conveyor is causing a crash when I try to use it. I have 4 input conveyors, all named "Iron Plates" and I want to put them all in one system. So I tried to use that thing to put them there. But when I did, it crashed.

Nevermind, I was just using it wrong. Still might be something to look out for though

Show/Hide Machine Infos won't update

I click update, it says it does, I check for updates, it says I still need to update; rinse and repeat

Fixed it It's cos I have a Server profile and the mod isn't compatible with it, but it wasn't throwing up the normal warning about 1 or more profiles using/being an incompatible version like other ones usually do...

Idk why but I get this error, and the mod in question cannot be removed, please help

You need to either disable your mods (using that "Mods Off" button in my screenshot above), or move back onto the Stable branch of the game here:

Perfect Circle missing Feature

I'm trying to use the perfect circle mod and the info on ficsit.app says to check the "make perfect" checkbox to force the walls to line up properly on the outside. However, I can't find the checkbox - Has it been removed for some reason? If so, how do I make the walls line up properly using the outside edges?

Problem adding mods on dedicated Server

When trying to install mods to dedicated server SMM closes mid installation leaving partial of the files on the server.

New Satisfactory Mac gamer - SMM cannot find install location

Hi, I purchased Satisfactory in the recent Steam sale and have really enjoyed the game so far. However, now I would like to use some mods so I installed SMM but it cannot find my Steam install location. I have a fairly unique installation on my MacBook Pro (M4 Max). Satisfactory runs great using Steam Windows installed on Wine along with several other Steam Windows games. I used a great resource to get Steam Windows installed and installing any Steam Windows games is now just a matter of doing a regular game installation on Steam. I am using the Mac version of SMM as I could not get Steam to run SMM Windows (as an external app). SMM Windows probably could run but will need some extra Wine parameters that is beyond my knowledge. r2modman runs fine though so I used those wine parameters with SMM (I found those on the Whisky forum) but it still did not run. ...

Mod manager not working

I downloaded mod manager and it says "No Satisfactory installs found" when i clearly do have it installed

Moved game files to another ssd

One of my ssd was getting full so i moved Satisfactory to another ssd to clear some space but now the mod manager isn't able to install any mods anymore.
Solution:
SMM queries the APIs of the EPIC and Steam game store apps to determine where your game is. If you moved its location after installation manually, your installer client will not know where it is. You will need to reinstall your game through your store client so that it is in a known location. This will not affect your saves.
