Strange Texture

New VC4 ASA I tuned Flow, Max Flow, and PA. This seems like extrusion issue?
Solution:
The black Nozzle in the VC4 kit is a 0.6 Nozzle. It is very easy to forget to change it when setting up the printer. If you do your prints will look like this☝️

PA-15CF - Printer has been calibrated, yet I keep getting these imperfections.

Seems like overextrusion, however my flow seems to be spot on. First layer is good. Last layer is good. I used all the Orca Slicer calibrations until I was content with the result. What could I be missing?

Vcore 4 Bad first layer

I dont know why but this is what my first layer looks (ABS). When I'm doing smaller print it goes fine as soon i go for a big one it start doing ribbons and having that ugly look

First layer squeeze

Printing pla and my first layer is always too squished wouldn't the beacon take care of that ? Also the part that looks good is where I baby stepped the Z offset. But on one end line are good and fused together on the other one it's separated

Can't dial in retraction

Hi all! So I have been trying to get Nylon-CF15 dialed in. Nylon is new, from well sealed package. In a drybox (electric) since I opened it and been there for 2 days now. I have been working on calibrating everything using Orca's tests. Usually they work fine for me with other filaments. But this one, I can't solve it. I have tried from 0mm to 5mm. I have increased and decreased speeds. I tried decreasing the flow in case it was overextrusion. I have changed the seam settings in case I had an issue there. Yet whatever I do, I keep getting these artifacts. Not exactly wispy lines, but more like residue. Any ideas?...

Random overextrusion?

Hello, So I have a Creality CR-M4 (ratrig on its way) and I've been getting really bad uneven layers on some parts of prints with PLA. And some parts are looking really good. I checked the following things: -PID tuned bed and hotend -calibrated e-stepps -printed with lower print speeds (current at 55 mm/s)...

worbling on layer 2 (ASA)

i print primarily in ASA in my vcore3.1 500 240/110, 245C for first layer. stock fan at 20% or so starting on layer 2. not sure why this happens in some places and not others on some of my prints. this wobbling on layer 2 or 3. ...

What does this look like?

My print looks poor. I've printed a cylinder and box in both vase mode, and 3 walls with no infill. The vase looks more of less fine but the multi walls look like they have some issues as well. What is it telling me?

Underextrusion PETG

I've been trying to tune my profile for some time now but always end up with underextrusion, I'm running 15mm2/s volume limit and volume tests show I could go over 20. It's Rapid PETG from elegoo. Maybe the print is too big in general and I should move to 0.6mm nozzle? At the top I also seem to require some more cooling, some layers look too hot and melty. Has anyone used the Rapid PETG from elegoo here and maybe has some pointers? ...

Pillowing on very top surface

Hi, I just can't figure this out. I had e pillowing that all of a sudden has started. I printed a smaller similar piece with the same setting and it's perfect. It seems to be on the top layer only. The other layers are immaculate....

Underwhelming first layer after calibration

V3.1 300 with LGX Lite + Rapido, matte PLA 200c, bed 70c (previosuly tried with 215/60 with same results) Hi, I'm currently experiencing these quite underwhelming 1st layers on my stock Vcore 3.1, that even z-offset doesn't seem to solve (all calibrations from the commissioning guide were completed) it seems like some sections just won't stick to the buildplate and lift up? Currently running short on ideas rn, any suggestion is appreciated!...

underextrusion during z-offset cal

I recently switched from an LGX lite to an Orbiter 2 and found that I needed to recalibrate my z offset. I've been trying to do that but the very first tab printed from superslicer always comes out underextruded for about the first half. I'm looking for some ideas as to what might be causing this, I've never seen this sort of behavior before. I'm pretty sure it's not that the bed is too close as I could see the gap between the nozzle and bed.

PA tuning pattern fails

I'm trying to fix some PETG printing issues where the thin lines on infill start a spaghetti, I also need to do a print with only one wall where I'm having issues of blobs making it fail. I think I need to tune pressure advance and retraction perfectly but I can't seem to get there. When I do the pattern method the start of the line is very difficult. Anyone knows of any tips and tricks to get the extrusion to start and stop perfectly? After doing the blob prime the first line takes a cm or 2 to start extruding. Should I use the deretract setting?...

[VC4 400] Pattern on the wall

Hey, been printing PLA for a few hours and it’s mostly successful, but I have some weird banding on the outer perimeter. Looks like layers are stacked inconsistently? I tried using outer-inner-outer but it didn’t help

New VC4 prints awful

So, I just finished building VC4 (CoreXY) with standard extrusion setup (Oriter 2 + Rapido Plus 2) and I can't figure out what's the problem with extrusion. In general it prints but there are quite a lot of weird things going on. First layer sometimes looks like is underextruding (picture with yellow filament), or it could be the z-offset to high, but I followed beacon inital configuration and z-offset conifguration. I also did Orca flow test and they look quite alright to me. The printer test p...
Solution:
Ok. I've been working on the machine again today still trying to fix the belt tention, I also swapped to yet another fresh filament roll and now it prints perfectly. So not really sure what was the problem but it's magically solved.

flow issues at higher speeds

So I'm printing a flat print with rectilinear infill. It's only about 25 layers high. Once we get past the first 3 layers, I'm seeing weird flow issues where there's gaps and blobs. Then the print head seems to move the blobs around and make a bad surface to layer anything on top. I'm not sure how to fix this issue. This is on a V-Core 4 500mm....
Solution:
I've increased the temp about 5 degrees and dropped the max flow rate on the filament profile.

Issue with ABS printing

Hello. Some trouble with ABS printing at Ratrig V-Core 3.1 (RRF3 firmware, Duet3 Mini 5+, PrusaSlicer 2.8.0). Terrible at initial layers (at photo model rotate). Use 110 temperature bed and 245 hotend with enclosure and cooling 40%....

UHF Oozing

I have a rapido 2f with the UHF nut. Previously was using the original rapido, HF with a v6. With PLA, the prints are perfect, but with 'oozier' filaments, like CFPC, or LWPLA, the stringing is a nightmare. I've done all the regular tuning, but my question is do UHF/Volcano hotends require more retraction than compared to non UHF nozzles? To get more filament out of the melt zone? Is there anything else I should be considering? Like retraction length vs retraction speed....

Rough start...

Been printing 100% for a while and all of a sudden, first layers are always going down horrible after a few minutes.... On different print jobs as well. Standard Ratos installation and doing a 20 X 20 bed mesh...

Goliath Heat Creep

I am at a crossroad here. Right now I run a Goliath Air Cooled hotend with 0.6mm CHT Nozzle. I also run a CPAP. Let 'er eat at 100% while doing PLA. I've noticed that as long as I am doing large prints that have consistent extrusion, it woks great. However when it has to do intricate parts where my flow drop from 22-32³/s to something like 10-12. I start to run into heat creep issues. The filament will start to twist and jam. I am running 1mm/40mm's retraction, and 215C. So I am trying to decide. Is this hot end setup too much for what I am running? Should I drop down to say a Rapido with the settings I print at. Should I try to print faster, if so what have others gotten on a 500 Ratrig setup. I run 160mm/s perimeters and 230mm/s infill. I have nearly 800hrs on the clock for this setup, and only notice issue when filament is flowing at low volumes....
