TMC 'extruder' reports error: GSTAT: 00000001 reset=1(Reset)

Hi all, I have recently been hit with a spate of GStat errors on my T0 extruder (IDEX VCore4 400mm). I have searched far and wide for a solution, with my attempted fixes including; - Swapper extruder motors between T0 and T1 ...

Cannot Connect to Moonraker (randomly, frequently, during prints or just sitting there)

Hey folks. RatOS will randomly drop a "cannot connect to moonraker" error, pretty regularly and without pattern it seems. It happnes both during printing and when there's nothing happening. I'll be connected to the machine, viewing my cameras or what have you, and then suddenly connection drops and it either can be refreshed and come back, or drops entirely untill I power cycle the printer. Some more specific symptoms:...

Toolhead configuration cannot be deserialized

During the setup i get this error message when configuring the toolboard. Also the fans connected to the toolboard are doing the opposite, they are supposed to (running with 100% when they should be off and the other way around). How do i fix this? I have a v-core 4 in the base configuration with BTT EBB 42 CAN V1.2 toolhead....
Solution:
Try starting the config from scratch and selecting a different model and ‘start fresh’. Then go back and select the correct model

IDEX T1 not correctly bounded on X

After seemingly no changes to something that was working previously I have found that my T1 is considering x=500 to be substantially far off the side of the bed. Debug steps so far: - Deleted all of the CALCULATE_DC_ENDSTOP details from my printer.cfg - Performed _VAOC_RESET...
Solution:
In any case, for the bot: The solution was an issue with Rotation Distances for the X steppers. I am not sure why they were changed. They should be 40....

Move exceeds maximum extrusion

Can someone please tell me where I can increase the extrusion limit on my V-Core 4.0? I'm using a 1mm nozzle, and the default value is much too small.

Rat Rig 500 Hybrid Y-Axis jumping and loud noise

I have built a few RR V-Core 4 500s but have never encountered this before. The X-axis runs smoothly, but the Y-axis moves in the right direction with many jumps and noises. I have pulled apart the motor mounts and checked if there are any issues with the bearings, but it looks all fine. I have no explanation for it and need some help to sort this out. Any help is appreciated.

Fan speed problems during toolchange

Hi guys, I am getting my Vcore4 500 IDEX dialed in and I'm having trouble with multimaterial prints. I would like the T0 part cooling fan to run at 100% and the T1 part cooling fan to run at 20%. I am using Orcaslicer which is outputting the (supposedly) proper M106 commands right before each toolhead switch, i.e.: M106 S51 T1 X265.885 Y240.469 ...

Wrong hotbed temperatur.

I upgraded my printer with a Orbitool toolboard and after gone true the setup my hotbed thermistor shows 7 cellsius in roomtemp (not connected to toolboard BTW), i use a laser to se what the real temperatur is and ther is a differens of 17 degreas. i have tryed 3 different thermistors and its the same problem so it must be a software isue, i can find the pullup_resistor for the hotend but where is the hotbed hiding? cant seem to find it, and is there a bether way to callibrate the thermistors ? and second whay is hotend powerdraw in celsius. can i fix that?...

Unexpected motion in X when moving Y

When homing Y I noticed T1 jumps (See video). I went back through the commissioning guidfe and noticed VERY small movements in the toolheads during the Y-Axis Direction test. I inverted the directions pins for Y, which made things worse. I feel like this could be related to tension, but unsure....
Solution:
Appears it was related to belt tension

Advice sought; Trying to tune TMC2209

HI all, I think I am severely confused here and hoping that the answer is simple. I have been getting OTP flags on Z1 and Z2, and after a Gstat on Extruder 0, I thought I had best check the VRef of the drivers. This is where I think I am getting confused and if someone could help, I'd be greatly appreciative. Machine info is VCore4 - 400mm When I pull a driver out and hook it up to a 5 or 12V source, I get no signal on my multimeter when probing the VRef and Gnd pin. This is the same on two of the drivers, I thought it best to stop there and ask....
Solution:
TMC2209 is controlled via RatOs for current. Although I am unsure that the potentiometer gets overriden, there is no need. Use RatOs to change current. However, the default settings in "performance" mode should be 100% adequate on a stock steup

🛑 V-Core Z Homing Crash | “Shutdown due to X and Y must be homed before homing Z” Error on RatOS /

Hey all,
I’m having an issue with my V-Core running RatOS + Klipper. When I home the printer with the homing button, XY homes perfectly. But right before Z starts, the plate drops ~5mm and the system immediately shuts down. Console Output: ```...

Dumb question? Or I'm totally missing something. Commissioning Hybrid XY

SOLVED, see my comment below: Hey super people. I'm in the commissioning process for a vcore 4 500mm hybrid. The guide is telling me to tune the xy belts before putting on the hybrid y belts. OK no problem.....but The machine is moving all the motors while I try to do this. I get diagonal reverse motion instead of left-right on X, and y axis motion is backwards. I see how I can bang (!) the motor directions in the printer.cfg file, but I can't figure out what to do right now to get the core XY m...

Ratos 2.x

So I thought I had made progress. Long story short, memory card or the pi 3 crashed, so replaced with a pi 4 and new memory card. Had issues with Beacon calibration, but finally got past that. This is vcore 3. I have used superslicer since I got this. I chose something small to test print and I can't get it to start a print, not sure why. I'm using the same settings and same version of superslicer as I did before without any issues. Can someone point me in the right direction as to what in the world is happening here? Oh, 1 more thing I'll add, I didn't have the Beacon on previously, new since the crash. So that is the only physical change, which means it's Rat OS 2...

IDEX layer shift

So just finished the bulk of the IDEX upgrade on my VC4 300 - everything looks ok. Configurator re-ran to update to IDEX, I have control of both print heads, etc. Went to print the VAOC parts and while the first layer goes down fine things seem to drift after that. It's almost like it loses track of where it is. Any suggestions? You can see in the attached image the second layer is offset by about 15mm X & Y.

IDEX Upgrade VCore 300

I just finished connecting in everything for the IDEX upgrade on my RR4 300 and when I go into configurator, select IDEX on the 300 and walk through it shows T0 twice, not T1 - at the end I can't create the config because it doesn't know about axis 1. I checked on the pi and I can see both toolboards so not sure what's going on. ``` pi@Ratatoskr:~ $ lsusb Bus 002 Device 002: ID 2109:0817 VIA Labs, Inc. USB3.0 Hub ...
Solution:
I'd run through the configurator again. The beacon section should absolutely get fully populated

RatOs operating system

I've built my Rig. and had an issue with the operating system. so I re-flashed the sd card with RatOS. went through the installation and update process. Do I need to re-flash the board? I have no idea what im doing. the printer is just sitting here with the part cooler running at 100 percent...

IDEX 400m V-Core 4 - Layer Shift when printing

Having an issue where under normal moves everything is fine, however when printing (and speeds go up), i seem to be getting layer shifts to the front and right. Never seems to occur on the first layer and happens less if I slow everything down - hence the idea that something is slipping under higher load. I'm assuming it's the grub screws on a pulley slipping, but haven't been able to spot anything obvious, so was wondering if anyone had an ideas as to the most likely culprits ? Especially as it is consistently in the same direction, and always increasing to the Front and Right...

Bearing clunk - but which bearing?

I dont consider my Vcore 3 to be very old, but I do wonder why sealed bearings fail, and how do we find which one? If I push my toolhead diagonally, I can confirm the clunk is not from the linear rails (phew), since it only occurs in one diagonal, but I wonder if someone has a method to identify which bearing of that particular belt loop is the problem - I prefer not to dismantle it all. And while I'm asking, why do these bearing fail at all - shouldn't they last for ages ( my belts are not overtight)...
