JoinCannot get FF XVI to launch
Installed from FitGirl repack and that seemed to go fine, but when hitting play I just get this error. This is a freshly install heroic.
BOF4 Black Screen
Hello all,
Apologies, I am very much a novice when it comes to doing this kind of thing. I saw my favourite game from my childhood appear on GOG.com (Breath of Fire 4) and I've managed to download Heroic Games Launcher so that I can run the game on my MacBook Pro. (I'm amazed I got this far!)
The linking of account went fine, download of the game went fine as far as I can tell until I reach the point of launching the game on Heroic Games Launcher and it seems to load the game for a brief second before the scene goes black for about 2 seconds and then closes. I can see the app pops up at the bottom of the screen with the icon of the games main character but that's about it......
Shenmue 3 stopped working
I have Shenmue 3 installed on Steam Deck, and after working for a few hours over a few sessions, it now displays a splash screen for a few seconds and then quits.
I had added it to Steam for convenience in the Steam Deck environment (mentioning in case it's relevant).
I have tried to uninstall the game but keep the wine prefix and reinstall but that didn't help. Since it worked previously I suspect a clean reinstall could help but I'd rather keep my saves. When added to Steam, I assume it launches from the same wine prefix (asking if I want to try and backup my saves before reinstalling)?
The logs do show an error at the end but I have no idea what it means....
Got a black screen in some games while the music is playing

Started recently, 2 of the games I am playing, Dishonored definitive edition and Fallout 3, cannot start properly. The games are installed from Epic store and launched from Steam.
After launch, the games show a black screen, but I can hear the background music was still playing. ...
Replicate way heroic launches game in a script
For an mmorpg I host myself, I am trying to run multiple clients. It's very typical to play on multiple accounts at the same time in this game. Because I cannot do it in Heroic, which doesn't allow launching a game multiple times, i'm trying to replicate what heroic does with a script. My issue is that I don't know how to do this. Any pointers?
X4 (GOG) won't start. Error message

I was trying to play X4 again with the GOG version on HGL, but it won't start. I tried with Wine GE latest and with Proton GE latest, nothing works.

Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga flashing up white screen then closing
As title says, I open Lego SW in Heroic Launcher and then it just shows a white screen and closes, I have it on Steam OS bought it on Epic Games so wanted to see if I could access game through Heroic launcher

Sonic Mega Collection not being in full screen
The game runs in a lower resolution than normal and I see it smaller.
(Windowed and full screen does quite the same)...
STEAM ON MACOS M3 PRO Not working
Iâm running Heroic Games Launcher 2.17.2 (âCutty Flam Frankyâ) on a MacBook Pro with an Apple M3 Pro (12 CPU cores, 19 GB RAM) under macOS 15.5. Heroic launches the Windows build of Steam located in the prefix ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/SteamHeroic via the Game-Porting-Toolkit version of Wine. When I click âSteam for Windowsâ in Heroic, nothing appears on screen; instead, the log files inside âŚ/Steam/logs/ grow continuously.
Those logs reveal two main failure classes. First, Steamâs Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) tries to create a Vulkan/GPU context but the GPTK Wine build lacks Vulkan support, producing hundreds of repeated messages such as âFailed to create GLES3 context / SharedImageStubâ and V8 out-of-memory errors. Second, authentication fails: webhelper.txt shows âFailed to start auth session: {"result":3,"message":"Connection failed"}â, while connection_log.txt records âHTTP fetch failedâ and ConnectFailed('Connection Failed':0)âpointing to blocked HTTP/UDP traffic (ports 80/443 and 27000-27100). Because of these GPU and network errors, steamwebhelper.exe restarts in a loop, no UI ever materialises, and the only visible symptom is the ballooning log size.

Heroic unable to find/use umu
I am using OpenSUSE Linux Tumbleweed, and I've tried using the latest Heroic RPM downloaded from Heroic's github, and from the OpenSUSE 'games' repo (v2.17.2). Heroic can't seem to find umu. I have run 'umu-run --version' from a terminal, and it reports 'umu-launcher version 1.2.7 (3.13.5 (main, Jun 11 2025, 22:06:31) [GCC])'. Command 'whereis umu-run' shows: 'umu-run: /usr/bin/umu-run'. Heroic does not give me the option to select 'Proton - GE-Proton-latest' as my wine version, nor does 'Disabl...
Nothing launching
In gaming mode on Steam Deck, steam loading logo will be on screen indefinitely. In desktop mode running any game it just says "launching"

Set default categories to be shown in library
Currently
uncategorized is the default category. My games are organized by categories I created. On start up I have to open the Categories dropdown and choose Select All to see my library. Is it possible to have some categories checked by default?Solution:
I think the selection of categories should persist between sessions, if that's not happening for you I think it's a bug (I'm not home until next week so I can't check with my heroic to confirm, but I think I remember it should persist)
Games not working properly on steam deck in game mode
Whenever i try to launch a game from heroic it wont switch over to the game, i hear sounds from it but no option to switch to the game

Games from Epicgames refuse to start
Hi. I am using the flatpak version of Heroic on up to date archlinux.
Since a few days, all games installed via epicgames crash before even starting a window.
When clicking "PLAY NOW", it switches to "PLAYING(STOP)" for a bit before returning to "PLAY NOW".
I did recently update my nvidia drivers, which has historically caused problems for me.

Got an error running BTD 6
I'm trying to run btd6 6 on linux and it keeps giving me 0160:err:service:device_notify_proc failed to get event, error 1726 in the log whenever I run it, anyone know how to fix it?
