LOD's not generating, instead replaced with fog?

Not sure why. Didn't do this when I used forge, it had worked before. Mod list included. I am using dev version of 1.20.4, it was working in forge, maybe it's not working in fabric?

chunks differ from actual ones

im using a greenfield map and i need to manually load a lot of chunks before they look like they should

Ocean depth

Ignore the patchy chunks I used chunky and for some reason it likes doing that. I am using Tectonic which has deeper oceans but the ocean bottom from dh is drawn way higher than the actual bottom is there a way I can increase the ocean depth? Or would that interfere with less deep parts of the ocean?...

I figured it out it is cave culling height. For tectonic oceans set it to 0 or slightly below 0

How does Minecraft/Distant horizons store the relevant world data

How is world data stored in Minecraft? Does it work kind of like a git pull where only the data you changed is saved, does it save the entire chunk when you first load it and how does distant horizons make the LOD representations of the cunk without loading it? Does it generate every level of LOD when you first load a chunk and update the LOD data when you update the chunk?
Solution:
The LOD data is stored in a Database. It only saves the LOD. DH generates a chunk, and then converts it into LOD form. Also afaik it doesn't save the normal chunk. Yes it generates every level of LOD directly and updates the LOD chunk when a block update happens in the chunk

game crashing on boot

im using atlauncher and im using a lot of mods right now. logs: https://paste.atlauncher.com/view/d050b6d5-9afb-45af-b85c-20c44757200f mod list is available inside of the logs im trying to open game and getting some errors, to me it seems like its crashing when it binds to iris event handlers....

LOD water turns white a little bit after the world loads

after the world loads up the water is normal even when going over to the chunks they are blue but after awile they turn white, I have no idea why, I have had this issue before but now they go blue for a little bit

[Edited title] Bliss doesn't seem to work when changing MC version

Hey, as you can see in the screenshot everything rendered by DH is very low poly. Also, for some reason Bliss Shader creates a fog at my max Minecraft render distance as if DH was not enabled...This is the same Bliss Shader I used for my tests with New Horizons (Minecraft 1.20.4) modpack which worked fine. The only difference with New Horizons is that I'm now on 1.20.1 and using a modpack, could it be caused by a mod in my modpack ? I'm using Prominence 2 so it has quite a lot of mods... Also yes I'm using the right DH file, got it in #links-n-downloads...

What can I do to get DH to NOT take twenty minutes to load chunks?

I'm on an i7-12700H, so it shouldn't be taking twenty minutes. I do have C2ME installed but I've applied the workaround mentioned in #faq-mod-support (changing config options ISN'T compatibility in my eyes, it's just a workaround)

Game crashes upon entering DH Menu

Once I click the DH button (one next to FOV) game decides to crash, doesnt matter if game has just DH installed or multiple mods, tried 1.20.1 and 1.20.2, same thing happens in both versions.

Adding custom Translucent blocks to render with Distant Horizons

The Aether's Aercloud blocks are set to renderType "translucent" similar to how minecraft's Glass is, however it does not show up outside of rendered chunks with Distant Horizons. How can I change this so I can see Aether's Aercloud blocks with Distant Horizons?

Rendering Glitch

So my game is looking like this, i have the mods: Optifine, do a barrel roll, regions unexplored, and regions unexplored. It happens even without shaders. I dont have any texturepacks on. Singleplayer. Version 1.20.1 Forge

Optifine making rendering not work for Distant Horizons (1.18.2)

When i downloaded the optifine and moved it to my mods where my DistantHorizons mod is, when i start playing my rendering distance wont be as far and errors will come up saying "Opengl error 1280 (invalid enum)" even when i rendered that area already but when im not using optifine with my DistantHorizons mod the DH mod works, I am able to see far and no more "Opengl error 1280 (invalid enum)".

see through ground while flying with an elytra

Playing on a smp with friend while flying around with an elytra, the point where normal mincraft rendering changes to dh, the ground is invisible and u can see the underground. I believe this is hard to spot without an elytra as I'm not going fast enough....
